Wednesday Wants: Feminine & Professional Work Wear

April 27, 2016

White Wrap Dress // Nude Suede Pumps // Pastel Pink Low Heels // Black Patent Bow Pumps // White & Black Scalloped Dress

Fit & Flare Patterned Dress // Blush A-Line Short Sleeve Dress // Lace Hem Pencil Skirt // Abstract Print Pencil Skirt

You may have noticed that in the majority of my wear-to-work posts (examples here, here & here) I am wearing pants. This is because, in general, I have felt more comfortable in my career playing down my femininity. I work in a heavily male dominated environment. There is often just myself or maybe one other female in a courtroom full of men.

The past few weeks though I have been thinking a lot about this and have been wanting to add more feminine work pieces to my wardrobe. I often wear skirts and dresses in my free time and so, while I still intend to dress very professionally, I don’t want to “hide” my femininity.

All of that is a very long winded way to say that this week’s Wednesday Wants are clearly all about feminine wear-to-work items. I want every one of these pieces so much!

The rest of this work week is going to be absolutely nuts for me, and so I want to let you guys know that I will not have a post up this Friday. I *hate* deviating from my post schedule (… have I mentioned how type-A I am!? haha) but this week it just has to be done. Be sure to come back on Monday for another post! And follow along on instagram & twitter as I’ll at least have some time to be staying in touch on there!

These are the perfect pieces to convey both professionalism and femininity – which can be hard to do (and say, ha!) Nice job 🙂

  3. That scallop dress is so pretty!

  4. Really beautiful picks that would be perfect for work. Thank you. Gemma x

I work in a very male dominated industry as well but I love playing up my feminine side. I focus on professional cuts with feminine prints and colors.

I love all these pieces you've picked out!

Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!

Yes I love that we are on the same page! Playing up femininity in a masculine work environment, I think, is important! I want the next generation of girls to be able to wear whatever they want without worrying about fitting in to a masculine industry.
