It has been ages since I did a beauty post, and with spring in full swing I figured now was the perfect time to do a beauty post on makeup that you can use to update or ‘freshen up’ your look. I’ve rounded up five of the best new products in the makeup world; products that are must-haves this spring!
We all know that makeup for your 9-to-5 can’t be too over the top. What I love about these fresh spring products is that all 5 items of makeup are subtle enough for the office – but are still trendy and fresh for spring. So let’s get to it:
1. Pixi Color Correcting Powder Foundation
I am a foundation addict. I use Estee Lauder double wear religiously, but have never found the perfect powder to go on top of it. I have combination skin (yay for still getting acne in my thirties :S). My skin gets shiny easily but is also very dry with constantly flaky skin on my nose. This is the FIRST powder I have ever found that masks/prevents shine while not making my dry patches look drier. I am officially obsessed and cannot recommend this enough. This is a perfect product to give your skin a fresh, healthy look for spring! For reference, I am wearing the shade “nude”.
2. Teeez Cosmetics Style Addict Highlighter in “Berlin Sunrise”
This is actually my second shade of the Style Addict Highlighter by Teeez. Highlighters have become a makeup must have this past year, and this is only going to become a bigger trend as we move towards spring and summer and away from the heavier look of contouring. The color, called “Berlin Sunrise” is a great shade for spring as it gives a subtle, cool-undertoned glow. I like that it can be dabbed on in small amounts for a work day subtle glow, or can be layered for a brighter look on the weekend.
3. Makeup Revolution Blush Palette
I have never been that into blush, but this palette has definitely changed that. I love the marbled coloring of each blush as it avoids the “fake” rosy look that I worry about getting when I apply blush. I also like the number of choices because it allows you to mix and create the perfect shade for your skin that day. Remember, your skin reacts to it’s environment as well as your hormones so colors that look good one day may not be the best the next.
What I like about this brow product is that it is a dual mascara wand application and pencil like liner. I currently use the Anastasia brow powder duo, and while I LOVE it, it is definitely a heavier look. I think this pixi brow duo will become my go to for spring and summer as the wand end provides just a slight hint of coloring, while the pencil end allows you to make some precision strokes to fill in your brow. This results in a softer brow which looks more natural and carefree for spring and summer.
This mascara is an amazing, amazing product. I have really long lashes ( thanks to the lash boost serum I sell/use by Rodan & Fields) but I need mascara because my eyelashes go blonde at the end. My biggest pet peeve about mascaras is how many of them are clumpy! The amount of mascaras I have tried that make me look like I have a grand total of 4 eyelashes is mind blowing. This bulletproof mascara is not as lengthening as my go to mascara, but as that is less of a concern for me now, I am in love with this because it is clump free!! The mascara goes on so, so smoothly and leaves your lashes looking full – SCORE! What a great way to update your look for spring – fuller looking eyelashes!
And there you have it! I love the results of using these 5 products in my spring makeup routine. Try adding them to yours to give you a fresh, updated spring look!
Ps. The lipstick I am wearing here is another product I am currently loving; it’s Teez Lip Duo in Rosebud Shine. I will link it up below in case anyone is interested.
