Summer work wear can be tough. Not only do you want to still look professional in the hot temperatures, but you want to be as comfortable as you can. When I heard of the company Miik I was immediately intrigued by their use of sustainable fabrics (and the fact that they are Canadian!) I knew I wanted to try out one of their wear-to-work outfits and picked this ink blue blazer and pencil skirt.
What I love about this blazer is how soft it is! The sleeves feel like pajamas, and it is so nice / unusual to be able to freely move my arms in a blazer and not feel restricted. It feels breathable – perfect for the summer heat. One thing to note: the sizing of Miik products runs large, so order down. I am wearing a size small skirt and blazer and they are still a touch big! And be sure to use the code Lee25 on anything you order to get 25% off!!
If you work in a corporate environment where you are stuck wearing very traditional business attire, I recommend picking items in bolder shades of traditional colors for the summer. For example, instead of navy blue go with a bolder more royal blue like I did here. Instead of a classic grey, go with an oyster grey or pale blue, almost chambray looking grey.
Last thing I have to mention are these awesome shoe clips. I picked them up on a whim a few weeks ago on a whim, and can’t stop wearing them! They are a perfect way to update a pair of old heels to make them feel new. They also add a nice added touch of ‘fashion’ to an otherwise plain shoe. I highly recommend them!
