Today I am so excited to be sharing a post with you that is bit different than my usual – I’m talking to you about an upcoming event (and it’s awesome fashion component). If you live in the Greater Vancouver area (or are planning a trip here), come check out the 5th Annual Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest!
This event is the biggest one-day food truck festival in Canada! It is happening Saturday July 29th from 4-10pm in the city of New Westminster and there will be over 150 vendors and food trucks. What a cool concept and a great way to spend a Saturday evening! This year, in addition to all the amazing Food Truck vendors (…Tacofino here I come) there will also be a Style Hive section where local New West boutiques will be out with their latest goodies so you can shop your heart out! I’ll be in attendance as well, meeting people and helping them pick out great new items, so come say hi to me!!
New Westminster has a bunch of great boutiques. In preparing for this Style Hive event, I got to go check out a couple of the stores that will be present in the Style Hive; and man-oh-man were there some great finds! I wanted to give you guys the “inside scoop”; so I thought I would share a sneak peek of some of my favorite things from these boutiques.
1) Mila & Paige
Mila and Paige is a fashion-forward boutique carrying brands such as Dex, Brunette the Label, Gentle Fawn and more. I love that in addition to a carefully curated selection from those great brands, Mila & Paige also carries accessories such as mugs and jewelry. If you caught my instastory last week, you’ll know that I could not stop laughing over a giant black mug that just says “MAN TEARS” in bold white lettering. haha! Below are some of my favorite pieces in store right now!
The Vancouver Fashion Truck is your fashion boutique on wheels! Yep, you read that right – it is a traveling fashion boutique. How cool! As a bonus the owner, Megan, is the sweetest/cutest and she will definitely give you an awesome shopping experience!
The Vancouver Fashion Truck is a treasure trove for summer goodies; from the best selection of graphic tees and accessories (I got the cutest baseball cap that says “bad hair day”) to chic dresses and summer staples. Below are three of my favorite finds:
For any readers who wear size 10- 32 clothing; this consignment boutique carries exclusively size 10 and up, and they will be at the Style Hive! They have a wide selection of gently used clothing; from suits, to ball gowns, to shoes & accessories. I was shocked at how good the deals were! Below are three items I saw that I loved. The striped dress in the middle is Calvin Klein, and it was on sale for only $38!
If you aren’t sizes 10-32, still stop by this boutique in the Style Hive for their selection of jewelry & accessories. You may still find yourself a treasure despite not fitting their clothing; I did! I found a necklace & earring set (pictured below) as well as a pair of like-new Nine West flats.
