The arrival of summer weather (finally for us Vancouverities!) means a change up in your wear-to-work outfits. Dress codes relax and, of course, you want outfits that beat the summer heat outside but don’t have you freezing in a (likely) over air-conditioned office. Today I wanted to share with you 5 dresses that you need for work this summer. All 5 are on trend and perfect for a day at the office!
Floral print is the ultimate way to add some summer vibe to your 9 to 5 style. This floral print sheath dress is perfect because the summery print is balanced out by the classic sheath shape.
The color block trend is big again this summer, and this classic black and white dress would like great in any office environment. I personally love colorblocking because of how flattering a well-placed color block can be! In this dress the black trim around the top creates the illusion of a smaller figure.
There are so many shirt dresses out there right now, but it can be hard to find one that is appropriate for work; as many are mini-dresses. This dress is a perfect just-above-the-knee length and the pinstripe pattern adds even more of a classic work day feel to the dress.
High necklines were all the rage in runway shows last year for this year’s summer collections. High necklines are a great trend for work since they are so easily made work appropriate. I love the added detailing of the tie at the neckline of this dress. Perfect for a day of meetings and generally being a #girlboss.
As you can clearly tell by now, I am sucker for a trendy neckline! One of the trends that has been popular this summer on wear to work dresses as been the racer neck. On a very traditional silhouette (like this sheath) the look totally works for the office.
