I am absolutely in love with these ruffle overalls!! I have been eyeing the overall trend that has been huge this fall with some skepticism (… and by that I mean traumatic flashbacks to wearing denim overalls with tie dye shirts in elementary school. Yikes. Haha) But, when I saw these I knew that these were a more mature, dressier way to try out this trend. The fabric (not denim) makes them easy to style in a more professional way, and the culotte pants are a nice on-trend touch that also keep them from making you feel as though you should be getting on a school bus with Lisa Frank stationary and a beanie baby in tow.
I decided to style these overalls with my striped mock neck top – one of my favorite tops for fall. I think these overalls would look equally good though with a white silk blouse, or really any classic button down for a more professional look. My striped top is old, but I’ve linked up a similar one below (it’s under $10!). If you don’t already own a mock neck striped top, you definitely need to get one since they go with everything! I wear mine to work all the time, but also love wearing it on the weekend with jeans and a plaid blanket scarf.
My ankle boots are some new favorites- I got them at Ever New a few weeks back and have already wore them quite a few times. I love the combination of suede on the back and faux leather on the front.
Final thing I have to mention about this outfit is my lip color!! I love the purple-pink shade and the pop of metallic. The lipstick I am wearing is NYX soft matte in Seoul and then I am wearing Ulta sheer lipgloss in Ballerina on top. This is such a great combination; I highly recommend it! I actually just can’t say enough good things about the Ulta ballerina gloss on it’s own. I have worn it as just a gloss as well as on top of other matte lipstick shades and it is definitely the perfect amount of metallic and has a bit of blue tinge which makes your teeth look whiter. Definitely my favorite lip gloss!
I am still crazy busy with work but am headed out on vacation to Aruba next week; so I am looking forward to that! I’m headed there with my mom on a mother-daughter trip; something we try to do once a year. (We went to Curacao last year- check out my Curacao trip review if you missed it!) I will be sharing posts on my trip (must do’s, where to eat, etc.) upon my return so stay tuned for that. You can also follow along on social media to see what I’m up to while I’m away.
