Prior to my finding this velour pinstripe suit, if you had told me that a comfortable suit exists I would have laughed in your face! This suit however is so. darn. comfortable. I love the fashion forward cut of the cropped flare trousers and the boyfriend/looser fitted blazer. The real winner here though is the velour which looks really luxe and basically allows you to feel like you are wearing pajamas to the office.
Do I feel a bit like Hugh Hefner wearing velour? Yes, yes I do. But it is a sacrifice that needs to be made since this suit is so gorgeous and so comfortable! Haha! If you aren’t bold enough to wear an entire velour suit to work, the pieces also make great separates. I have worn the velour blazer with black dress pants and a black blouse a few times already and love the look it creates.
I need to talk about work wear basics today as well. If you wear camisoles/tank tops like I do, then you NEED the camisole I’m wearing. I have it in both black and white and it is by far the best tank I have found. The material is really stretchy and comfortable (smoothes everything out) and it’s long enough to stay tucked into a suit. I wear this underneath a lot of work looks. Right now the tanks are buy 1, get 1 for 50% off, so I highly recommend stocking up and grabbing a couple!
Finally, my shoes. I think grey suede pumps are one of the most underrated wear-to-work items. Other than classic black pumps, there are no shoes I wear more frequently to the office than these grey suede ones. They are a great bet because they are still a neutral, but more fun than a classic black pump. Grey suede is also a perfect compliment to a burgundy suit (like this one) or a navy suit. I actually get a lot of emails/DM’s asking what footwear to wear with a navy suit and my recommendation is always grey suede!
