Blazer // Similar Midi Skirt // Heels // Earrings // Cabby Hat // Similar Chanel Bag
I have been so inspired lately by current fashion trends. From midi skirts, to houndstooth blazers, to sock heels, I have been loving creating fashion forward wear to work looks. My classic work wear outfits aren’t going anywhere any time soon; you’ll still see me styling quality suits and wear to work staples on the blog. I am also loving though creating these outfits that would work in a modern work setting! It is rare that I find myself drawn to fashion trends – usually I stick with classics and incorporate trends only rarely – but I am seeing way to many amazing trends for spring and summer.
This look is one that I felt amazing walking around Vancouver in! I love the versatility of midi skirts, and this white one pairs so well with my new houndstooth blazer. With midi skirts and blazers you definitely want to add modern accessories to keep the look from being too overwhelming or to dowdy.
The accessories I went with are: a black cabby hat, sock heels, statement earrings, and a Chanel bag. The Chanel bag is classic – always good with a classic look – but the remaining accessories are modern and trendy. The sock heels are possibly my new favorite shoes – they are as comfortable as they are cute! They are also affordable at under $100! The cabby hat you have probably seen a million times on my instagram – it is a staple in my closet at the moment. … Mostly because the Vancouver weather REFUSES to turn to spring, so I am adding it to nearly every outfit for added warmth haha!
The statement earrings are under $15 and are ones that I have in ombre pink as well. For this look, I added these striped ones because I love the print mixing of the checkered pattern and the stripes! Pattern mixing is definitely one of my favorite ways to create new outfits.
For whatever reason the houndstooth blazer looks a bit blue in these photos, but rest assured it is black and white! Perfect for a wear to work piece for spring. I also love the modern cut of the blazer – the slight peplum/flare to the hem and the snap closure are so chic. I’ll be wearing with this classic black pants to work a lot over the summer and into next fall I am sure.
This outfit gives me major New York City vibes … perhaps I need to add another trip to New York to my travel calendar?!
