Happy International Women’s Day!!!! If you caught my post on Monday about Celebrating International Women’s Day you probably gathered just how much I love and support this day. In honor of International Women’s Day I wanted to share an outfit that makes me feel strong & confident and this outfit does just that.
I love this “F is for Feminist” tee. The bold red color, the sequin “F”, the slogan itself- everything about it just makes it such a great t-shirt, and definitely something I feel confident in. I decided to pair it with these menswear inspired trousers from Top Shop. In general I love mixing masculine and feminine pieces when it comes to work wear; as that is what does make me feel the most confident and bold. It’s probably why I love pant suits so much! These pants have that menswear trouser shape but with the modern touch of a cropped and cuffed hem.
You may have noticed that I am almost always in heels. In fact, I don’t think there are more than two or three outfits ever on this blog in where I am not wearing heels! I know that a lot of women don’t like heels for various reasons; but for me, they are an item that makes me feel empowered.
Last thing about my outfit when it comes to confidence and empowerment: my rings! It’s a bit strange, but one of the my biggest tools for empowerment when it comes to things I wear and fashion, is rings. Ever since I was in middle school, wearing a lot of rings has been a way for me to instantly give myself a confidence boost. They are like my own little protective shield. Being in my thirties and working in a Courthouse, I don’t wear a ton of rings as often as I used to, but there are still days that I will throw on 4 or 5 rings – and it is still gives me a boost of confidence and makes me feel generally like a bad ass that can handle anything the day throws at me!
The rest of this outfit just consists of bold accessories. I love these gold glasses and red cross body bag!
In honor of International Women’s Day, I wanted to talk about strong women and share with you of my biggest inspirations; Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg; someone who I respect as a feminist.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg (aka. the notorious RBG) for anyone who doesn’t know is basically the ultimate female lawyering bad ass. She was the second woman ever appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court and has been champion for women’s rights for decades. Not only has she been in the majority of two landmark US Supreme Court decisions, and written incredibly brilliant and poignant dissent’s in many others, she has done so while speaking out for what she believes in and pursuing a life she loves. I’ll save you all from me going full law-nerd on you and rambling about her brilliant legal work, but I will share with you a quote from her that I love:
On The Number of Women on the Supreme Court:
“[W]hen I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the supreme court]? And I say ‘When there are nine.’ People are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.”
And on that note, I will end this post by saying thank you to each and every one of you amazing, kick ass, brilliant women for reading my blog. I appreciate each and every one of you and am always here cheering you on in your pursuit of your dreams. Keep up the amazing work!

Same here! When I get to be in a more casual work setting (which sadly is only once every week or two) I love a cotton graphic tee under a blazer!
Hi Lee, I just “found” your blog through Debbie’s and I am so glad I did! Your quote from Ruth Ginsberg just hit the mark–I had to read it to my husband! Right on!! BTW–I love your outfit, too!
