When the weather refuses to act like spring, but you are so ready for spring fashion what do you wear? This tweed dress of course! The cream with gold threading is right on trend for spring fashion, and is definitely warm weather ready. The tweed material however keeps it from being too summery. It’s an ideal dress as we transition into spring!
The tweed dress on it’s own is a great piece; but the black ribbon bow is a really nice touch. It comes with this dress but is a completely loose / separate ribbon, so the dress can easily be worn with or without it.
I have been re-watching Gossip Girl on Netflix lately (anyone else?!) and I think Blair Waldorf’s outfits are impacting my fashion choices! I adored the fashion in Gossip Girl the first time around, but am surprised that even now I am loving the attention to detail in their outfits with accents such as brooches, headscarves and bow ties around collars.
The other accent to this dress that I love is the pocket details. Now, before you get too excited these are (sadly) fake pockets; but I still love the detail they add to the look of this dress. To top off this outfit I went with my over the knee boots and an o-ring handbag. O-ring handbags are one of the trends you will be seeing a lot of this spring, and I love that this one (like the dress) has that on-trend feature but without being too summery to wear right now. My exact o-ring bag is sold out, but I have included a similar one in the widget below!
The over the knee boots were a 100% necessary addition to this look because when I shot these photos it had snowed earlier in the day (hence the melted puddles you can see in the photos. ugh.) So they were an item of necessity, but I ended up loving the combination of the tweed bow dress with these over the knee boots. Chic, but so comfortable! Over the knee boots and mini dresses have a vintage vibe and it is an easy outfit combination when you are in a style rut or just uncertain what to wear in early-spring!
I cannot wait for warm weather and everything fun that comes along with spring and summer in Vancouver, but in the meantime this outfit will be keeping me smiling! As always, let me know if you have any questions about anything I’m wearing in the comments!
