The Frill Elliatt Suit & My Summer Travel Plans

This gorgeous Elliatt suit is anything but boring with it’s frill shoulders and pockets & unique tailored shape. I get so excited when I find suits like this; suits that aren’t boring, that are designed with women in mind. Obviously I because it means another outfit I can add to my wear-to-work wardrobe that I love, but also because of what it represents.

fun work wear for corporate women

When I see suits that are like this – suits with feminine, fun details – it reminds me that we are in a changing society. A society where women are not only working in traditionally male dominated ‘suit’ fields; but where women are stepping out of the ‘we must blend in’ mentality of our mother’s generation and demanding work wear that allows us to be professional but also express ourselves.

This Elliatt suit screams modern business women and is something I will be wearing a ton this spring & summer. In addition to the fact that I scoop any suit I can find with fun details like the frill on this suit, I love it because I have been wanting to add a light colored suit to my collection for spring and summer.

I currently only have one light suit (do you remember this pastel pink suit?!) so I wanted to add one more to my closet. The Elliatt suit is the most beautiful pale blue color, so it definitely was the perfect addition!

This Elliatt suit is bold enough all on it’s own (clearly) so I accented it by just wearing some nude patent pumps and a basic white tank. Thank you Express for making the best plain tank tops! If you don’t have their cami’s (they come in 5 colors) you need some. They are the perfect material; thick enough to smooth you out and hold you in comfortably, but not so thick as to add bulk.

On a completely separate note; I’ve started planning my summer trips & adventures (yassss) and so far I think this spring & summer I’ll be traveling to:

  • Cowichan, British Columbia
  • Toronto, Ontario (back to visit my family for a week!)
  • Los Angeles
  • Croatia
  • Montenegro

Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy summer! Have you made an travel plans yet?!

This is the most amazing suit ever. You are absolutely right about women in the workplace needing to feel feminine and yet strong. I am looking forward to seeing you blog about your summer travels. Croatia is stunning and Montenegro is on my bucket list as well.
