How chic is this faux wrap pencil skirt?! The orange/red color, the dramatic grommets at the tie waist and the faux wrap silhouette are such a dramatic and unique combination.
Given how bold the skirt is I wanted to step away from a traditional work look for this particular blog post and instead style the pencil skirt for a summer night out.
There have been a few nights this summer where I’ve gone out after work for patio drinks at some nice restaurants and bars and this has been the perfect outfit for that!
The faux wrap pencil skirt is from Downtown Chic boutique; a female-owned online boutique that I love. I highly recommend for finding pieces that can easily transition from a day in the office to a night out since that is the owner’s goal when selecting pieces to sell in her boutique. Be sure to use code “Lee30” if you order from DT Chic, so you can get 30% off your order!
My white ruffle top is out of stock (but I have linked up similar ones above) and it is one I have been loving this summer paired with high-waisted flared jeans, pajama style dress pants and pleated mini skirts. A white ruffle crop top is basically this summer’s ‘plain white tee’ – it goes with everything and you should definitely have one in your closet.
Last but not least I wanted to chat about my accessories – my shoes are my ride-or-die white heels (yep, I’ve worn them with a bold summer work outfit, a date night outfit, and a casual spring/summer work outfit). These heels are under $50 and are one of the most comfortable pair of heels I own.
I’ve been really into the layered necklace look this summer, and since it isn’t something that I would consider ‘office friendly’ I figured this work-turned-night-out outfit would be the perfect opportunity to share this trend here on the blog.
I hope you are all having a great week and enjoying some summer weather (preferably in a fun faux wrap pencil skirt, while sipping a delicious drink on a patio haha). I’m visiting my family in Ontario this week but am still working a fair bit on office work. I don’t mind though as it has been a great way to get work done but still catch up with family and old friends in the evenings. I’m back to Vancouver on Saturday and then head out for 3 weeks in Croatia and Montenegro next Tuesday!
I’ll be traveling with my friend Sarah and we’re going to be visiting Zagreb, Hvar, Split & Dubrovnik. *excited happy dance*
If you’ve been to Croatia before I would love to hear any recommendations you may have – let me know in the comments below!
