Happy first day (of public access) of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!! *happy dance* I stayed up until midnight when it officially opened to place my order, and can’t wait for my goodies to arrive. For those of you planning to shop today / over the next 2 weeks, I wanted to share a Nordstrom anniversary sale fitting room review.
Also, I wanted to make your shopping a little easier with a giveaway! *secondary happy dance* haha. I’ve teamed up with Lili Alessandra, a home decor brand that makes fine linens and soft furnishing, to giveaway a $400 Nordstrom gift card to one lucky winner. Giveaway entry details are at the bottom of this post.
On Wednesday I shared my review of wear-to-work items, so today I’m sharing a Nordstrom anniversary sale fitting room review of weekend wear. I’m sharing, of course, the must-have items but also sharing honest reviews of some of the hyped-up items that are not worth your money, so read on!
Overall:
I love this cute little tee! Tres chic!
Fit/Quality:
This runs true to size, but it is a bit short. So, if you have a long torso I’d size up. For reference I’m 5’7 and usually wear a small, but went with a medium in this for added length.
Overall:
Clearly this is a must-have tee. I am obsessed!
Fit/Quality:
This tee runs true to size and is surprisingly soft. I’m in a small.
Overall:
Another bold tee that is must-have for all you amazing women. I love this and it’s definitely one of my most recommended items of this Nordstrom anniversary sale fitting room review.
Fit/Quality:
Same as the other Rebecca Minkoff tee above; it’s true to size and super soft!
Overall:
This tee has been a blogger must-have during the sale; but honestly I’m not a fan. The lace-up runs too low if you’ve got a larger chest *cough* me *cough* and the ruffles sit a bit oddly across the chest. I’d pass on this.
Overall:
I adore this jacket! I am always looking for jackets for the fall that don’t add bulk/ create a flattering silhouette, and this one does just that. As you can see from the second photo there is an adjustable drawstring inside so you can create a waistline to the jacket that fits you perfectly.
Fit/Quality:
This jacket fits true to size. I’m wearing a size small. The sleeves by the way are that perfect not-too-long but not-too-much-above-your-wrists length. Bonus!
Overall:
Teddy coats are going to be trendy again this season, so this is a great opportunity to snag one while it’s on sale!
Fit/Quality:
This coat fits a bit snug; assuming (like I do) you want to be able to wear a long sleeve shirt or sweater underneath. If you’re at all between sizes I would size up. I’m wearing a small.
Overall:
In case you can’t tell by my face in the second photo… I do not like this dress! I wanted so badly to love it as the floral pattern and bow are right up my alley.. but the colors are a bit odd; they come off as more muted than they are on the website and the fit is just too baggy. I’m a fan of flowy dresses but this is just too shapeless to be flattering. Also the ruffles at the neckline don’t sit properly and the bow folds weirdly over them. Pass.
Overall:
By contrast; this dress is. everything!!! *swoon* The fabric is silky and feels luxurious. The colors are also perfect to wear now but also transition into fall. Picture this with cognac ankle booties!
Fit/Quality:
This dress fits true to size (I’m wearing a size small) but it is quite short. If you are tall, I’d go up a size for the added length.
Overall:
This dress is such an easy throw-on-and-go piece. Great for summer, but also would be cute in the fall with black riding boots. The sleeves are a bit odd – if you lift your arms theres a bit of a batwing shape, but I still love this dress.
Fit/Quality:
This fits a bit on the big side, so size down. I’m wearing a small.
Overall:
I apologize that the plaid pattern isn’t too clear in this photo; but I assure you in person it looks perfect. This dress has a lace-up detail on the back which allows you to adjust it for the perfect flattering fit.
Fit/Quality:
Adjustable (as mentioned) but it does run small. I would size up. I’m wearing a medium.
Overall:
These jeans are so worth the price tag. I only recently started wearing designer denim when I realized after getting a pair of 7 for all mankind jeans that designer jeans a) feel like butter and b) hold their sizing better without stretch throughout the day.
Fit/Quality:
These fit true to size; I’m wearing a 28.
Overall:
I have been dying to try the Good American jeans for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity. Verdict? They are worth the hype. They don’t ride down or create any weird gaps at the waistline and they really do make your butt look great!
Fit/Quality:
These are a bit snug, so if you are between sizes I would go up. I’m usually a 4 (that’s what I’m wearing in the photo) but think I would actually go with a 6.
Overall:
How cute is this sweater for fall! Such a classic piece that will go with anything.
Fit/Quality:
I love the quality; the material is way more luxe and soft than I would have expected. That said, the fit is a bit odd – as you can see in the photo the sleeves are insanely long. Not a huge deal, I’ll still be getting the cardigan, but definitely a point to note!
Overall:
This brand makes the softest sweaters and it’s no surprise these are some of the most popular items every NSale. That said, the standard cardigan i find to be really unflattering, this one however is so darn good! All the softness and comfort but still with a shape that flatters the body.
Fit:
True to size. I’m wearing a small.
