Hey guys! I’m interrupting your regularly scheduled Lee programing while she’s away in Europe to offer you a little disruptive fashion. My name is Jessica Moore, and I am the blogger behind Miss Moore Style, a blog dedicated to sharing my affordable fashion finds as well as my life in Los Angeles. One thing I love to do is to take a classic piece and put a fun spin on it. Today, that piece just so happens to be the infamous trench coat.
I have always been a huge fan of trench coats, because, honestly, what could be more classic than that? My love affair with the trench coat can definitely be traced back to the first time I ever saw my favorite movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. What is more iconic than Holly Golightly standing outside Tiffany’s in her LBD with her trench coat and big black sunnies? Nothing, that’s what! When I saw this trench dress on one of my favorite affordable websites, Shein, I knew I needed to have it because its a trench coat….dress!
While I don’t work in an office, I do think this dress is super chic and has such a fun and sophisticated feel to it. You would be hard pressed to find a dress that is this unique, classic, and fashion forward all at once.
When it came to styling this dress, I wanted to keep it classic. I love a good cat eye sunnie, and these older Karen Walker ones are my go-to’s. I’ve also recently been playing around with my eyeglasses, and found my perfect cat eye frames from Zenni about a month ago and I love the funky and retro vibe they can give any look.
Because this a trench dress and it is in a traditional khaki color, you’re kind of at your own liberty to jazz it up. For me, that means accessories with fun colors and prints. When your dress is a neutral, everything else can be fun and bold!
