Hey beauties! My name is Candace of The Beauty Beau and I am a friend of Leeanne’s and she was so generous in letting me guest post for her today! Those of you who are familiar with me already probably already know my style is always effortless, tomboy chic. I tend to always do a classic mix of masculine and feminine with a little edge from time to time. In essence of Lee’s blog and her usual style, I’ve decided to do my take on a Casual Dress Day look, showing one of the exact looks that I wore at my corporate job!
As some of you may know, I am not one to dress up very often. It’s not that I don’t like to do it; I just prefer to be comfortable over looking good all the time. However, I’m about to contradict what I just said by saying that I feel there’s a way to do both. Half of you are probably like…”What?! How the heck do you ‘be comfortable’ in heels?” Of course there’s an easy way to do that as well…find comfy heels!
When I was in the corporate world, Friday was our designated Casual Dress Day, in which we could wear jeans. Of course there were rules with this, as there usually are in this type of environment. There were to be no holes or frayed edges and they also had to be of a darker denim. Now if you know me, you know I was not a fan of this silly rule, but I learned to realize that it just came with the territory. While I’ll admit I wore sneakers with my jeans mostly, there were times that I wore heels with them, and they were comfy of course!
Though most may feel that heels are a bit dressy (and I happen to agree), when you pair them with a nice pair of jeans, it creates a nice balance that is perfect for the workplace and anything you might have planned afterwards!
Over on The Beauty Beau, most of my looks are tomboy, vintage chic, but I tend to slide more feminine looks in from time to time. I can’t wait to hear what you beauties think of this look and I hope to see you soon! 😘
