The window display behind me in these photos reads “a bit of Paris in New York” and that is exactly how I felt in this custom made work dress. The dress itself just gives off such Parisian vibes! I love the dark hunter green wool material – it is perfect for fall/winter and perfect for day at the office because the heavy material keeps you warm and doesn’t wrinkle throughout the day.
This dress is one I had custom made by an etsy store called Heart My Closet. I have had dresses made by Cynthia from Heart my Closet in the past (ex. this Kate Middleton inspired dress) and love her work. This hunter green custom made work dress is a design I found on her site and knew I needed to have it!
I have always loved this style of dress, but often shy away from dresses with built in belts because I am extremely long waisted so they never hit at the right part on my body. That’s what I love about getting a custom made work dress – I can be exact on measurements and get pieces that fit my body. I was so excited to finally get a belted dress that fits well!
The other thing that drew me to this dress is the statement neckline. It is such a beautiful and unique cut! I also like that it’s high cut enough to feel completely comfortable in at while at the office or attending a work related event.
As far as the accessories for this custom made work dress, I love the combination of dark green and rose gold, so I went with my rose gold pumps. They are surprisingly comfortable as pumps and are a statement that, yes, is a statement, but is not “too much” for the office. If you’re not a heels person; I would recommend these rose gold flats. I have them as well and they are some of my favorites, especially in the fall.
I also went with my star burst earrings which were one of my favorite purchases from this year’s Nordstrom anniversary sale. They are back in stock now, and even at full price they are under $30 and trust me, they are so worth it!
I hope you guys like this outfit! If you have any questions about getting a custom made work dress, feel free to ask in the comments below. I have so many bold, fun outfits that I think you guys will love!
