NYFW: Day Four

September 21, 2018

Today was by far my busiest day of this NYFW. I had so much fun and think you guys are going to love seeing the collections from the designers I saw today. Let’s get started:

The Shows/Presentations:

Nonie:

I was really excited for the Nonie show for two reasons. First, Nonie is a Canadian designer! I love supporting Canadian brands, and it’s cool to see Canadians taking New York Fashion Week by storm. Second, Meghan Markle wore a Nonie piece a few weeks back! She wore a beautiful blush sleeveless trench dress from the current collection. Markle wearing a Nonie piece really launched the brand onto the international stage and I can’t wait to see what’s next for Nonie.

The SS19 collection was beautiful. Nonie pieces are classic, simple silhouettes in beautiful fabrics. Most of her looks are monochromatic and she uses silk/satin fabric predominately. The three looks above were my favorite from the show. I feel like the white vest in the middle is this season’s version of what Meghan wore – I love the white and the sash tie belt.

Nonie did use some color in her SS19 Collection – mostly red and pink. Red and pink are both big for SS19; with many designers styling the two together in their looks (see some of the Kate Spade pieces in my Day Two NYFW recap). Nonie also jumped on this trend with the most beautiful silk wrap dress.

Sandy Liang:

Next up for my day was the Sandy Liang presentation. I love presentations because you get the opportunity to get close to the clothes and really get a look at them. I also love getting to see what layout/set up the designers come up with for presentations because they are always so creative! Ex. Last year the Alice & Olivia presentation was my favorite part of all of fashion week!

Back to Sandy Liang. I was lucky enough to have backstage access for Sandy Liang so I got to see the hair and makeup being done which was really cool. The hair was done by stylist Janelle Chaplin and the team from Original Mineral..

The look they went for was sleek pony’s with the pony itself being curled. They wanted to create a combination wet/dry look which I found really unique and cool. They used product to keep the sleek part looking wet and then blow dried and curled the pony.

The Presentation itself was in an Asian fusion restaurant, a nod to Sandy’s heritage. Check the photos of the pieces (and the super cool layout) below.

Ruby Fang:

My last show of the day was Ruby Fang. This was my second favorite show of all of New York Fashion Week (second only to Pamella Roland on Day One). Ruby Fang pieces are basically moving works of art. The detail on her dresses-  the beading, the sequins, the feathers – are breathtaking. Check out my favorites below:

See what I mean?!?! I love the Ruby Fang Collection so much!

Events:

I had two amazing events today – the later being the most exciting event of my Fashion Week, so be sure to read to the end of this post!

Hotel 50 Bowery Meet Up:

The Haute Society (a blogger society) organized a blogger meet-up at the Hotel5o Bowery in New York for happy hour. This was such a fun event to go to between shows to just have some down time catching up with other bloggers and eating and drinking some delicious stuff.

Kendra Scott & Vogue Party:

Attending this party was a New York Fashion Week dream come true. Vogue teamed up with jewelry brand Kendra Scott to host a party at Spring Studios. It was a beautiful, cozy space with great drinks, great women, and a ton of beautiful jewelry. I was so caught up in the fun of it that I failed miserably at taking photos! The above boomerang is the only shot I got.

Kendra Scott had a beautiful custom jewelry bar set up and I created a statement necklace with charms including a feather and my nieces initials. I’ll share it on my instagram soon! I wanted to share with you my favorite items from the new Kendra Scott collection. You can shop them all below.
