My alternate title for this post was pumpkin spice squared haha. This sweater; whether you call it a burnt orange sweater, a pumpkin spice sweater, or a rust sweater, is absolutely the most beautiful fall shade! … and yes, it goes great with a pumpkin spice latte and a walk in through the leaves.

I have been on a sweater-buying bender this fall, as I realized that for some reason my closet was really lacking in sweaters. I only had 1 cozy sweater and a couple of cardigans. I say this to let you know that I now consider myself an expert in the fall sweaters that are currently on the market. Between hitting the mall and shopping online I have probably looked at 1000 fall sweaters. I decided to buy a couple turtlenecks, some tunic length sweaters and a couple boyfriend fit sweaters to add to my closet. Of every sweater I bought, this burnt orange sweater is hands down my favorite.
This is the only funnel neck sweater I own, and I really like the shape of it. The funnel neck is a nice touch and the side slits add a flattering line to the look of the sweater. It is on the shorter side, so no leggings with this guy – stick to comfy denim! I really like these high waist skinny jeans from H&M because they are so stretchy that they feel almost like leggings.
My ankle boots are ones I got last year in …. of all places … Aruba! I never thought I’d find boots for sale on a tropical island, but I found the most awesome store there called D-Shop where I got these boots as well as a bunch of shirts and dresses. My mom and I go on a mother daughter trip to Aruba every year, because my grandpa has a place there, so I will definitely be checking out D-Shop again and hopefully finding some more fun finds.
My handbag, as you see, is a cross body from Michael Kors. It’s old, so I linked up a similar version. I swear by the Michael Kors bags. For the price you can’t beat the quality. I find their bags to last as long and hold up as well as ones by Tory Burch but at a lower price point. Plus the cognac shade they use every season is the perfect cognac color that goes with everything in the fall – from rusts, to yellows, to this burnt orange sweater!
Taking these photos was so much fun. It would have been easy (and very blogger like) to snap these photos and be done with it. Instead, my blogger friend Britta and I decided to get coffees and walk around enjoying the beautiful fall day – we just happened to stop to take these photos. Plus, sitting in the leaves and throwing them around to get the below photo was such a blast – it made me feel like a kid!
This outfit is one you’ll be seeing me in a lot these next few weeks as I soak up every last bit of gorgeous fall weather before the rains hit here in Vancouver. I’m trying to do allllll the fall activities this week, because I had a two day trial resolve ahead of time, so now I’ve got two free work days!
Tonight I’m having a “Halloween girls night in” and having a few friends over to drink cocktails, eat Halloween candy, and watch some Halloween movies. Non-scary ones only – I cannot handle scary flicks. I’m currently thinking Hocus Pocus & Halloweentown as the movie picks; but any recommendations you may have let me know in the comments! Also; if you missed it, check out yesterday’s Halloween blog post! I’m sharing 4 DIY feminist Halloween costumes!
