February Favorites

March 1, 2019

Happy Friday & first day of March! Anyone else feel like February was approximately 2 days long? It flew by. That said, I have a ton of favorites for this month’s recap. As you may know one of my goals for 2019 has been to slow down. To stop glorifying being busy, and to have more down time in my schedule. This past month I did a decent job of that which means I have a lot of fun favorites to share.

Fashion / Beauty:

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in “Summer Angel”:
This lipstick is the bomb. I am obsessed with the smooth moisturizing texture and the extremely shimmery nude shade is so gorgeous.

These Statement Ankle Boots:
You may recognize these from this layered neutrals post. I just love that these boots are so unique.

Celestial Style:
I’m not sure what it is, but lately I’ve been so into anything with celestial related. From star print clothes, to moon and earth jewelry, I am so drawn to celestial pieces. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite finds for you here:

Eliza J Sequin Midi Dress:
This dress that I was in love with in December that sold out … it’s back in stock in all sizes!! It is a major favorite dress of mine and the fact that it is back in stock as of yesterday (squeaking in a February instead of March favorite lol) is a ‘monthly favorite’ for two reasons. One, because so many of you messaged me saying you weren’t able to get your size and now you can! and two, because I am going to order it for myself again because, sadly, mine was stolen out of my suitcase from YVR airport. brutal. At least now I can get another one *happy dance*. Ps. if you missed my original post on this dress check it out here.

Life Moments:

New York Fashion Week:
No surprise here! New York Fashion Week was definitely one of my favorite life moments from this past month. If you missed my recap posts here on LegalLee Blonde, they start here with day one.

Maia’s Harry Potter Themed 10th Birthday:
I shared this photo on my instagram (…please appreciate my witty caption – I tried very hard haha. 🙊) My niece Maia turned ten this month, and since she is obsessed with Harry Potter at the moment, her birthday was filled with HP goodness. It was such a great day with family.

Meeting My Best Friend’s Daughter, Presley:
My best friend Maddie had her third baby, a beautiful baby girl named Presley, on January 21st. I was able to fly back to Ontario and meet her when she was 10 days old and it was just amazing catching up with Maddie and meeting this sweet little babe.

Reading / Watching:

The Name of The Wind:
I started reading this book this month after a friend recommended it and I am really enjoying it so far. It’s kind of Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings with a more adult/mature angle. Highly recommend!

The New Romantic:
I watched this movie on my flight back from New York and was pleasantly surprised by it. It started out slow and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but by the time it ended I was really impressed. The plot essentially is that a college student becomes a ‘sugar baby’ in order to write a story for her college paper. Some of it is pretty predictable, but I actually like how they deal with the complicated emotions she has and the messy business that is dating and love.

Blogs Posts:

My Favorite Blog Posts I Shared:

1. The Best & Worst Drug Store Mascaras:
I had been working on this post for a month prior to writing it (it takes a lot of time to try that many mascaras!) so I was really excited to finally share it this month. I love when I share posts that help you guys!

2. Insider Tips for Designer Consignment Shopping:
This post was a favorite of mine this month for the same reason! It was fun to create content that provides with with really useful information. Plus, I learned a ton of tips myself in creating this post, so that was a huge bonus haha.

My Favorite Blog Posts I Read:

1. 4 Myths About Making Money Blogging –  by Confessions of a Northern Belle
As the title implies, this is a great read for anyone whose wondered about how bloggers make money.

2. Full Moon Ceremony Guide – by Brains Over Blonde
I know, I know, it sounds about woo-woo-y; the idea of a ritual for the moon, but I have found it interesting learning more about rituals and this full moon ceremony presented by Anna from Brains Over Blonde was definitely something I liked. I tried it out the night of the full moon, and will probably do it again at the next full moon.

That’s all for this month’s favorites! Thanks for reading, and I will see you back here on Monday! Don’t forget to sign up for my weekly newsletter if you liked the post – I always share more great fashion finds and interesting articles in that newsletter!

Those booties are amazing, and I can’t believe the price! I also love the crescent moon necklace, it’s subtle, and a statement.
