The Color To Wear to Work This Spring (Step Away From Your Black Suit)

I know not everyone is as die-hard of a fan of colorful suits as I am, but I am here to tell you that you don’t have to love bold color to back away from your black suit this spring. If you’re wondering what to wear to work this spring; you can leave your black suits in the closet and head to straight for spring’s hottest color for work…

green!

Green is everywhere this spring, from suits to pencil skirts to work day dresses. Olive has been around for a while but, let’s be honest, is not the greatest shade. What we are seeing as far as what to wear to work this spring is a move towards forest greens & blue-greens. My pant suit in this post is from Canadian retailer Simons and is one of my favorites this season.

The trend towards green is not just for women’s work wear either, but men’s as well. When looking at what to wear to work this spring, we are seeing more and more green suits for men! I’ve linked a few of my favorite green men’s suits at the bottom of this post in addition to my top picks for women in green.

Before I leave you with my top picks, let’s quickly chat about styling. Dark shades of green are great because you can basically style them as you would a black or navy suit. White, cream & beige are always going to be great complimentary colors, or if you want to add more color to your look dark navy pairs really well with dark green.

I’ve worn my suit to work most frequently exactly as you see it here; with my white button front tank top and nude bow heels. I highly recommend this tank top as a wardrobe staple for spring and summer.  I’ve worn it before with these other two spring suits. I really like it because the straps are adjustable, so you can have it nice and high for work so you feel comfortable, but you can loosen it to style it with jeans for the weekend or a skirt for a night out.

Alright, without any further ado, here are my top picks for what to wear to work this spring in shades of green:

I really love the concept of a green suit for work – or otherwise. Since I’m self-employed, I don’t necessarily NEED to get out of my pajamas on some days. However, I do enjoy wearing nice things and being presentable whenever I’m out and about or meeting with other bloggers or businesses. So this would be a grand investment for me!

I totally feel ya girl! When Im having a non-lawyer day and am working from home on the blog it’s definitely easier (and more comfy) to stay in my pjs! But yes, it’s great to have suits and cute businessy pieces for blogger coffee meetings etc! And this suit is pretty affordable – it’s on sale for 40% off making it under $200 for both the blazer and pants!
