Summer is finally here in Vancouver and I am loving all the sunshine! One style I go back to again and again in the summer is maxi dresses. You all know that I love to mix higher end items with more affordable pieces, so today I wanted to share this particular polka dot maxi dress -which is only $26 – and with it share 9 other affordable summer maxi dresses.
Sticking with the summer vibes: I’m teaming up with some other fashion bloggers today, with each of us sharing a different summer themed post! From work outfits, to summer must-haves, we’ve got you covered with fun summer content. I’ll link up all of their posts at the end.
This polka dot wrap dress is such a versatile, flattering dress! It is a very thin material; which normally i wouldn’t necessarily like, but for a summer dress like this it’s fantastic because it makes the dress light and breathable. Perfect for a hot summer’s day!
To accessorize the black and white polka dots I wanted to stick with pale pink and gold. My exact pink straw hat is not available online, but i did find a similar one for you! My pale pink sandals are ones I wear non-stop – they are a great neutral for summer!
I finished the outfit off with gold statement earrings (they have such an awesome vintage vibe), a layered gold necklace, and my white with gold hardware handbag from Eila Cherie (more on that bag and why I love this brand that gives back in this post).

On to some affordable summer maxi dresses! The 10 I have picked to share with you are all in stock in all sizes (as of today’s writing) and some are even under $30. My personal favorite, and currently in my shopping cart, is the pale yellow smocked top one. I love the little off the shoulder sleeves and the pastel yellow is so pretty!

I know it’s Monday but honestly I’m already looking forward to next weekend when I can sit on a patio in the sunshine (with a mimosa of course) in a summery maxi dress!! I’ve got a really busy work week ahead. I have a trial Tuesday & Wednesday so today is all about case law research and getting ready for trial.
It’s actually been a while since I ran a trial, so I’m excited! I feel like lawyer TV shows lead you to believe that criminal lawyers are always in trial … not so much lol. On average only 10% of cases in Canada (similar stat in the US I believe) actually go to trial. So, while I’m in court almost every single day, it’s usually for bail hearings (ie. getting people out while they await trial), or doing guilty pleas and sentencings.
It’s exciting (and a bit nerve wracking) to actually get to run a full trial this week. Wish me luck! I’m off to pour my second cup of coffee (*cough* I’m lying, it’s my third *cough*) and hit the books! See you back here tomorrow for another post which has a GIVEAWAY!! 🎉🎉
