I’ve officially completed a round of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program; so today I wanted to talk a little bit about my experience, (a FASTer Way to Fat Loss review, if you will), and share my results! FASTer Way to Fat Loss Review: My Experience
a) The “Diet” Itself:
I really enjoyed the ‘diet’… and believe me I never in a million years thought I would say that. We have ‘diet culture’ so ingrained in us; along with the idea that loosing weight means depriving ourselves. I hate diet culture and have never wanted to endorse anything like that. What I loved about the FASTer Way to Fat Loss (FWTFL) program is that it isn’t about depriving your body; it’s about learning what to eat to fuel it. Yes, it is a diet and certain days were definitely harder than others, but while you are not allowing yourself to eat certain foods regularly (though you do get a treat day once a week), you aren’t feeling hungry. You are teaching your body to eat different foods, and I felt really, really good. I had more energy throughout the program and just generally felt less bloated and ‘blah’.
Another thing I really liked about the program was the variety. Any other time I have tried a diet the problem I have is getting bored and struggling with not being able to eat certain foods (similar to what I mentioned above). With FWTFL, what you can eat day to day really changes as certain days are low carb, where as other are regular macro and even low macro. This diversity really helped me stick with the program for 6 weeks (plus a prep week). For example, I would often find myself craving chips & salsa, and while I couldn’t have that on Monday/Tuesday I knew I could on Wednesday, so simply knowing I could have the food I craved in the near future made this something I was far more able to stick with than a traditional ‘diet’.
b) The Coaching / Community:
Unlike other diets or nutrition programs, FWTFL had so much support. I never thought I would be particularly into that, I’ve never wanted the culture of meetings or anything like that, but this was support in a fun way. My coach, Morgan Moyer, is so awesome!! Morgan has a facebook group where we share our macros each day so that she can help us adjust with snack suggestions etc. I think this is pretty standard among FWTFL coaches. What made Morgan really stand out is how much she genuinely cared about each person in the group and how much personal attention she gave each of us. It really was like having your own personal cheerleader. She’s also really knowledgeable about nutrition which really helped me with a lot of my questions.
Last thing I will say that speaks to how much I like this program – I am doing it again! Actions speak louder than words, so I think the fact that I am choosing to do it again speaks volumes. I took this past week off since I was traveling anyway I figured it would be great to eat whatever I wanted and then get back in the swing of things on Monday. And honestly? I missed the program! I thought it would be so great to eat whatever, but I felt more bloated, I had less energy and really started missing how good my body felt while on the program.

Faster Way to Fat Loss Review: My Results
Another reason I am choosing to do another round of FWFTL is that while I do see some results physically, I don’t see as much as I want to see. It’s crazy how well this program can work – I saw the results of a number of women in my round coached by Morgan and the before and after photos are so incredible. I was surprised (not in a good way) that I actually didn’t loose many inches at all. I only lost 1/2 an inch around my waist. *sad face* Where I noticed the biggest loss of inches was my hips/thighs where I lost about 2 1/2 inches.
Part of why I was surprised that the tape measure didn’t move much is that I feel like I look slimmer! It might be in my head, but I swear when I look at these before and after pictures I just look a bit more toned and slimmed out all over.
The biggest difference is actually seen best from the back – my butt/hips look smaller – but I’m not comfortable sharing photos of my butt on the internet sooooo you’re just going to have to take my word for that lol.
