Farmhouse Meets Office – Floral Dress for Work

June 7, 2019

I  couldn’t resist taking photos at this gorgeous farmhouse chic spot, and i figured my floral dress that can be worn for the office (more pics of it styled with a blazer below!) would be the perfect outfit for it.

You may not know this about me, but I’m a country girl at heart! I grew up on 36 acres with tons of animals. My dad is a veterinarian so in addition to our own cats, dogs & horses, there were always tons of unique pets coming and going. While I’m a city girl now and spend 99% of my time in suits, I will always have a soft spot for everything country and love the mix of country / farmhouse meets modern. Hence this chic farmhouse decor paired with my a summer wear-to-work outfit!

Dress from Simons (shop floral wear to work dresses below) // similar blazer

This floral dress jumped out at me the moment i saw it. I love the button front / flared fit, and it is *just* long enough that I feel comfortable wearing it to the office. As you can see below, for work I pair it with an olive green blazer to keep it extra professional. Having the option to take off your blazer and have a fun summer dress when you head out on your lunch hour etc. is the best!

In the summer I wear a lot of dresses with blazers to find that balance of being summery and work appropriate. This dress is from Canadian retailer Simons. Since it is not available for international/online purchase, below I’ve rounded up a bunch of summer floral dresses that you could wear to an office / work environment this summer. Pair these floral dresses with a complimentary colored blazer and some comfortable pumps and you are work day ready. (… and add coffee. never forget to add coffee lol).

Today is an unusual work day for me because for once I am not in Court! Today and tomorrow (yep, work on a Saturday) I’m in a conference! While I’m not thrilled to be doing ‘work’ on a Saturday, it should be a really interesting conference so that makes up for it.

It’s a conference for criminal lawyers covering all things forensics. So, what that means, is talks by experts on the frailties of finger print evidence, the science behind bitemark evidence, the latest updates on DNA evidence, & more. Cool stuff right?! I feel truly grateful to get to do this for living. I genuinely find what I do to be so interesting. Hopefully I learn a ton of great new info today.

I hope you all have an amazing Friday ahead, and an even better weekend! I’ll be back here on Monday with a new outfit post!
