Marilyn Monroe Goes Corporate

August 13, 2019

Seriously though- doesn’t this Harper Rose dress totally scream ‘Marilyn Monroe got an office job’?!  lol. It was the first thing I thought when I saw it. I love the longer sleeves and tea length of the dress, and the matching belt is the perfect detail to complete it!

This dress is by Harper Rose – an offshoot of Eliza J – which is one of my favorite dress brands. The Harper Rose dresses have the same quality as Eliza J dresses and are more corporate / professional styles and fits. I really like them! I shared this one at Christmas (which is still in stock by the way!)

This ‘corporate Marilyn Monroe’ one also comes in Navy blue!

As far as the accessories for this look, unfortunately my Louboutin look-a-likes were an Amazon find that seems to no longer exist on Amazon. :S  If you’re ever wanting a Louboutin dupe though; go check this post I did when I was justttttt beginning as a blogger on doing a painted shoe sole DIY! I glittered up my heels, but you can easily do the same process with red for a Louboutin look.

Random fact that I have to share – my inner law nerd is coming out here – did you know that the Red used by Louboutin is trademarked?! They own the trademark to that exact shade of red. I think that’s so cool!

My handbag is also a designer lookalike, with a much more affordable price tag! I love the bucket bag look as a contrast to this professional looking dress. Perfect for summer!

Speaking of summer, I’ve got a few more days of vacation here in Ontario and am soaking up every moment! It’s been so busy with my nieces & nephews and this week we have ton of things planned – from a pladium trip, to the movies, to bowling. I’m also recording a podcast (I’m going on as a guest) and I can’t wait to share more about that with you! Stay tuned!
