How fun is this Frida Kahlo shirt and neon yellow midi skirt!? I wore this outfit in LA last week when Jess and I were shooting photos. I love the outfit so much that I decided at the end of the day I might as well shoot photos of it as well … but then I second guessed sharing it.
I almost didn’t share this outfit because of the stupidest reason … nothing I’m wearing is new! As a fashion blogger it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that you need to share only new clothes that can be linked up, but I don’t want to think like that! Obviously I love sharing new clothes with you all; and when I have new pieces myself I get very excited to share them lol, but I also have pieces that I love that I never share solely because they’re not new. I’m changing that with this Frida Kahlo shirt outfit!
I figure (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here!) that you’re not all here just to find exact clothes to go purchase and wear, but to get general fashion inspiration, so hopefully this outfit inspires! 🙂
And, just in case you are looking for similar items, I am going to link some of my favorite currently available Frida Kahlo shirts and yellow midi skirts at the end of this post.
To me this outfit is fun representation of everything that Frida Kahlo embodies – color, feminism and boldness. I specifically added the white pearl headband (which is available by the way and is under $5!) because I think Frida would have approved. I should also add that my statement earrings are by Kendra Scott.
I hope this outfit reminds you that you don’t always need new clothes to feel amazing in an outfit, and I hope it also inspires you to wear something colorful and be bold – just like Frida Kahlo. 🙂

You do!? That makes me feel so much better! I could have sworn you always have new dresses on the blog. I definitely feel better that you don’t always share brand new pieces either!

Aw thank you Morgan!!!
What a cute and fun outfit – I’m so glad you shared it! I love the look of a graphic tee with a skirt. I also love that it’s stuff you didn’t buy specifically to photograph. My thing is recreating looks and I think there’s a lot of fun and challenge in doing that for the readers (either by coming up with high-end looks for low-end budgets or by recreating something we love to wear with currently-available options). I think it’s wonderful that you’re throwing an anniversary party for your parents – they did a great job of bringing up their kids right 🙂 You’ve accessorized yours just perfectly, too.

Thank you so much Ruth! I love recreating looks as well, especially when I get inspired by high-end designer stuff in magazines.
And thank you!!! The party was SO much work, but so, so worth it. It was a blast!
Besides fashion bloggers, we are also real women who wear their clothes more then once! So I applaud showing not only new clothes! Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party.
So true! Thank you so much Nancy!
