Happy October!! Like pretty much everyone and their mother, I am beyond excited that October is finally here. Fall is just the best season, and October is probably my favorite month of the year. I mean, with not one but two holidays (Canadian Thanksgiving & Halloween) plus the fall weather and activities; it really just makes for an amazing month.
To me, October 1st is the true start of fall, so today I wanted to share 20 things to do this fall. Every season I like to create a ‘bucket list’ of things I want to do during the season, so these things are the activities that make up my bucket list this year.
As you can tell, this one I checked off my list already! Alex and I went to a pumpkin patch on Saturday. We went to a location I absolutely love – Taves Farm in Abbotsford, BC. They’ve got pumpkin picking, apple picking, a corn maze and a cute general store.
Checked this one off at the same time! I picked a bunch of apples to make apple chips and an apple pie later this week.
Use the changing season as an excuse to get some friends together! Alex and I are hosting a fall party next weekend and I can’t wait.
There are so many great cocktails out there, I definitely want to try making one. My current front runners are this Bourbon Apple Cider & this Caramel Apple Moscow Mule.
I’ve seen so many delicious pumpkin and maple goodies on Pinterest. Baking something inspired by fall is a great way to get into the fall spirit.
The new season of Sabrina comes out October 11th!! So excited for it.
Find a new fiction book and curl up; this is the perfect season for it. I just ordered Margaret Atwood’s new one, The Testaments, and can’t wait to read it.
You’re likely switching out your spring/summer and fall/winter wardrobe right now, and this is the perfect time to donate your gently used clothing. Do some research into organizations in your area that may re-sell clothing in support of a good cause. Here in Vancouver there is My Sister’s Closet, which takes clothing donations for their consignment store. All proceeds help fund The ‘Battered Women’s Support Services’ initiative.
This time of year it’s great to sit down and spend an hour or tea just thinking about the things you have to be thankful for. I find it really helpful to write out a list of things I’m grateful for.
There are so many great outdoor activities in fall that as someone who hates being cold, I’ve chickened out of trying. I’m determined to try some random outdoor activity. I’m currently thinking of trying axe throwing!
That’s it! What do you think of my list?! What else is on your bucket list!?

I’d love to host a fall party!

Great list! Going apple picking is definitely on my list too.

Oh I love the idea of a fall wardrobe refresh! I just ordered a new pair of leopard boots so maybe I will start there! Such cute ideas for fall!
Oo nice! I’ve been on the hunt for some leopard booties myself, I haven’t found the perfect pair for me yet though!
Oh a fall party sounds fun!! Does that include all the pumpkin treats and apple cider?! If so, I’ll be right there 🙂

Hahaha it so does! I’m actually making an apple cider cocktail for tonight! So excited!
Such a fun roundup– I’m totally going to ‘steal’ a few of these! Have fun checking these fall activities off your list!
Aw i love it! Steal away!! 😀
These all sound like such fun fall activities!
Thanks Em! I’m excited about them!
This sounds like such a fun fall bucket list! I feel like I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to make one, but it’s going to look pretty much like this I feel! Xx.
Aw I so, so get being too busy! Take some time for yourself this weekend and sit down with some coffee and make your list! 🙂

You had me at pumpkins and apple picking!! I love going on hikes this time of year when the air is so crisp and the leaves are such brilliant colors. And leopard booties? OF COURSE.
Same- its the perfect time of year for hikes!
Such great ideas! I’m definitely adding pumpkin waffles to my fall wish list – they sound amazing!
Yass they’re so good!!
This is such a fun and exciting list! I feel like I need to make one too.
you totally should! 🙂
I love the fall colors and collections but I do miss the warmth of a summer sun! Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party.
I agree – I love summer weather, I crave the heat, but I love everything else about fall!
I can’t wait for the new Sabrina!
I know!! Less than a week to go!
This is such a fun list! I am SO excited for Sabrina season 3!
Thank you! and i know, I can’t wait!! I’ve been re-watching it from the beginning (my boyfriend hadn’t watched it so we’re watching it together from the start) and it’s making me even more excited for the new season!
Ahh decorating for fall is my favorite but I’m right in the middle of moving to a new house so we didn’t decorate this year. I’ll just have to make up for it for Christmas!
Aw that sucks, but I love the attitude of making up for it at Christmas! Christmas decor is the best. I hope the move goes smoothly for you, I know how stressful and exhausting moving can be!
It’s so hard in Chicago! It’s fall weather part of the day and the other part it’s not! So confusing.
I love this list and am trying to do a few of these as well. I need to make some fall cocktails, I think they are my favorite, especially with the darker liquors!

Oh I sooo get that! Im from Toronto, Canada originally and it’s the exact same. You can have frost on the ground in the morning and then mid-day have it hit 80 degrees! So frustrating!
Ah if you’re interested in cocktails, I actually just shared another post on 3 apple cider cocktails for fall – there’s one it sounds like you’ll really like since it’s got dark liquor! https://www.legalleeblonde.com/2019/10/3-apple-cider-cocktails-youll-want-to-try-this-fall.html
Love this list! Fall is my favorite season and I feel like it is flying by this year. I can’t believe Halloween is next week. I need to step up my fall game ASAP!
