Holiday Cheer with Nespresso

November 18, 2019

I had the opportunity last week to partner with Nespresso to head to Toronto to visit the Nespresso Nordic Garden at the edge of the Christmas Market. It was such a fun experience, and since it is open to the public now until December 22nd I thought I would share a bit about it with all of you today.

If you’re not local to Toronto and able to visit, still read on as I’m also sharing all the details of the new Nordic Collection by Nespresso – coffee flavors you wont want to miss!

What is the Nespresso Nordic Garden?

Inspired by the 2019 Festive coffee collection, Nespresso has set up a “Nordic Garden” themed pop-up experiential boutique. You can shop the new Nordic collectio of coffees or order a cup of coffee while spending time in the cozy lounge space (pictured above). There are board games to play with, a photo booth area, and holiday-themed activities including festive DIY ornament making and holiday card designing workshops. The shop, if you are buying Nespresso capsules or even Nespresso machines/products has exclusive sales as well so you can get a bargain – perfect right before the holidays!

Where is the Nespresso Nordic Garden located?

The Garden is located at the edge of the Toronto Christmas Market in Toronto’s distillery district.

Can anyone attend?

Yes! The  Garden is open to the public now until December 22nd (same hours as the Toronto Christmas Market). Just make sure that if you want to attend one of the workshops, you check out the Nespresso Nordic Garden DIY workshop schedule and sign-up. For anything else, drop in is totally fine.

What are the DIY Workshops?

Workshops include everything from wreath making, to ornament making, to watercolor holiday card painting. Below are some pics of both the ornament making and holiday card painting.

The ornament making is really cool as they provide all natural ingredients to fill your ornament. The snow is shredded coconut and there are berries, twigs, cinnamon etc. to add to the ornament.

The card making starts with an introduction to watercolor painting with some tips and tricks on how to really make your holiday card look amazing. The outlines drawn on the holiday cards are by bylaurenp and they are gorgeous! You’re sure to find one (or more!) that you want to paint.

Tell me more about the Nespresso Nordic Collection already!

Nespresso Limited Edition Nordic Collection

Alright, on to everyone’s favorite topic my favorite obsession, coffee! I had the privilege of trying out all of the flavors in the Nordic collection and it is probably favorite collection to date. There are three limited edition coffees in this collection:

1. Nordic Black:  This is a really smooth coffee with just a hint of spice. It’s mild so it’ great if you want a coffee that isn’t too bitter or bold. I personally love it enough to drink it black, and I’m usually an almond or coconut milk adder.

2. Nordic Cinnamon Swirl: This is also a medium itensity coffee but, of course, with added flavor. The cinnamon is quite subtle with undertones of cookie dough. It’s based in their half-caff blend, so perfect if you’re keeping an eye on your caffeine intake.

3. Nordic Vanilla Princess Cake: This is my personal favorite of the limited edition flavors. It’s a medium intensity blend with strong notes of vanilla & marzipan and just a subtle hint of raspberry. It’s delicious!

Let’s Talk Nespresso Machines

Every time I talk about Nespresso on my instagram stories I get a bunch of messages asking me which machine I have and whether I like it. I get it, it can be a bit overwhelming when you see how many Nespresso machines there are available. It’s also an investment, so I understand why people want to really make the right decision. Here are my two cents:

I have the Nespresso Verto Plus Deluxe Coffee Machine and I am huge fan of it. It’s really easy to use, and the water tank swings around (so it can be placed on either side or directly behind the machine) so it’s a definitely a versatile choice.

If you’re looking for something smaller, I’d highly recommend the Essenza Mini coffee maker. This one is affordable, so great if you’re looking to try Nespresso out, and it’s also small enough for even the tiniest kitchen. I’m actually thinking of getting one of these as well to keep in my blogger office/closet which we are in the midst of renovating. It’s going to have a murphy bed for when company comes so I think it would be perfect to have a mini coffee maker for me to use mid-day and for company to make themselves coffee without even having to leave their bedroom. This one would also make a great Christmas gift!

I hope you’re all having a great time kicking off the holiday season!! I’ll be sharing more gift guide content, festive work wear, and holiday party outfit ideas here over the next month so stay tuned!
