Are you getting excited for New Year’s Eve?! Alex & I are hosting a NYE party at our house this year, which I am really excited about. I was stressing about what to wear, but was thrilled to find this perfect gold sequin mini dress last week. Seriously, how freaking gorgeous is this dress?! – and would you believe it is on sale for less than $90!?
If you’re interested in this dress, get yours ASAP as it is selling out! It’s currently only available in sizes 4 – 8. I find it fits true to size – I wear a 4/6 and I’m wearing a 4 here. It’s a bit tight in the rib cage (it’s a side zip) so I wish I went with the 6, but it’s definitely still wearable in the 4. If you’re between sizes though, go up to the bigger size.
What I love most about this dress is the attention to detail. There are lots of gold sequin dresses this time of year, but the unique flutter sleeve cut of this one is what really grabbed my attention. I also love the pleated skirt and the stunning back detail:
As far as my accessories for this NYE look, I wanted to keep things simple and let the dress be the standout piece. I went with plain strappy gold heels, my initial pendant necklace, and starburst earrings. Sorry it’s a bit hard to see them in these photos; we shot these inside a train station because a) it’s really pretty and b) it’s been raining non-stop in Vancouver making outside photos basically impossible. The downside to this location was that it was quite dark so the photos aren’t as clear and crisp as I would like.
But back to the dress! In addition to being a great NYE dress I also think this would be great for a Vegas trip, your birthday outfit, or a bachelorette! I have a friend’s bachelorette party coming up in February and I think I might re-wear this for that.
I hope you all have an awesome New Year’s Eve ahead of you – whether that be partying or staying in and getting cozy. I’m one of those saps that really likes the new year and all the reflection, planning and goal setting that comes with it. I don’t set resolutions ( here’s more on that / why I only make goals for the New Year ) but I love goals and reflecting. This year has been a huge year for me, so I feel like I have a lot to reflect on and be grateful for as we move into 2020. I am so excited for 2020, I think it’s going to be a great year.
I’ll be back with two more posts in 2019 (one on Monday and one after Christmas) so be sure to come back for those! Both will be useful as far as things you may want to do over the holidays ( … and yes, that is my exceedingly vague post hint. Just go with it lol).
