Hopefully I’m not the only who is calling January a ‘practice round’ and considering February the real start of the New Year. (Anyone else? Anyone? Bueller?)
I’ve been wanting to share this with you for a few weeks and have finally had a chance to sit down and write it. Today I’m covering all things trendy and talking about the biggest fashion trends for 2020. I’ll be sharing both the ones I love and the ones I think are frankly, really, really bad.
In this outfit I’m wearing one of the biggest fashion trends for 2020; can you guess what it is before reading the list below!? 👀
This is probably my favorite fashion trend of 2020. Three-piece suits for women were all over the SS20 runway shows last year and I was so excited to see everyday brands/stores picking up this trend. I love the homage to traditional menswear but made for us women taking over the corporate world. They also go behind work wear and there are so many gorgeous options with halter vests that would be perfect for a date night.
I love this trend – hence wearing it in these photos! Polka dots are just a really happy print with 1950’s vibes. I’ve found a bunch of polka dot pieces I love so far this year (I’ll link them below) but my favorite has got to be this sweetheart polka dot top I’m wearing. And it’s under $10!
This trend from 2019 is here to stay for 2020; and it’s getting more dramatic. Last year we saw the pleated midi skirt trend take over, this year it’s all about even more pleats – from pleated dresses to culottes to sleeves on shirts.
I love this trend a lot because it’s so versatile. You can style an oversized blazer with a graphic tee and mom jeans for an edgy look or over a slim fit dress for work.
I have a love/hate relationship with this trend because I love the look of logo tights, but the price tag is a bit ridiculous. That said, I may pull the trigger and get the Gucci logo tights as I’ve been reading others reviews and apparently they are really well made and so will last.
Alright on to the 2020 trends I am less than enthused about. There are some trends this year that I can only describe as straight up ugly. The trends of 2020 that I do not like are:
Dirty Sneakers: You read that right. A huge fashion trend for 2020 is sneakers that look beat up. Example: this $500 designer pair of sneakers. I just don’t get it – I like my shoes looking crisp, but even if I did like this look I’d rather just wear out an actual pair to look this way.
Tube Tops: I did not see this one coming folks! Tube tops are back. *collective grown* I don’t know anyone who personally likes this trend but they will be everywhere come spring/summer.
Bermuda Shorts: I totally get that some people like this trend, but I cannot get on board with it. As someone who is very curvy through the hips and things these are just such a bad look on me. UGH.
And that’s it! What trends are you liking for 2020? Do you agree with me on the not-so-good ones?!
