I mentioned on my instagram stories last week that I engaged in some major retail therapy while stuck at home. Some social distance-induced stress shopping, if you will lol. My instagram followers said that they wanted to see what I got – since most of it is perfect for being stuck at home – so today I’m sharing my full list. There are some major social distancing stuck at home must have items in here; so be sure to read the full list! 😊
Tie Dye-Pajama Set: This set of PJ shorts & tee is one of the softest things I have EVER worn. If you buy one thing off this list, let it be these pajamas, you will not regret it! Plus they are less than $20. There are also matching pants if you don’t like shorts.
Side Pocket Leggings: These leggings are so comfortable and have the perfect high rise fit. They also have the prettiest ‘laser cut’ detailing down the sides. They come in 5 colors and are on sale right now! Having the side pocket is a must-have for your phone now that we’re all just wandering around our apartments while working (if you track steps in the health app on your phone this will help!)
$13 Cotton Joggers: These come in 6 colors and are just the perfect working from home pant. It’s a step up from pajamas so you feel like you’re ‘getting ready for work’ when you put them on in the morning, but you get to be comfortable all day.
Cashmere Blend Joggers: Oh we gettin’ FANCY in our work from home vibes!! 🙊 Seriously though, if we’re going to be stuck at home we might as well have something on that feels soft and luxurious. These are crazy soft and only $60, which for cashmere is not bad at all!
Pink Oxford Shoes: Look, I have zero use for cute pink shoes right. ZERO. But these are beautiful and I needed to have them. You might too lol.
Derma-E Vitamin C Facial Peel: I’ve heard people RAVE about this vitamin C peel and with all the time at home I figured it would be fun to give it a try!
LaVanilla Sport Luxe Natural Deodorant: I’ve been waffling about making the switch to natural deodorant for quite some time. We know that the anti-antiperspirants were all using are SO bad for you, but man i did not want to experiment and be smelly while out in the world. Now is the perfect time for us to all make the switch to natural deodorant! Do it for your body. To know: for most people there is a 7 – 10 day ‘transition’ period when going off anti-antiperspirant and using natural deodorant/ So don’t give up because it doesn’t work for one day. Now is the perfect time to stick with it and make the transition. This one is so highly rated because it works better than a lot of the other ones on the market.
Lighted Vanity Mirror: I’ve been wanting a lighted vanity mirror for my makeup desk for ages but I’ve been so picky that I haven’t bought one.. until this! Multiple blogger friends of mine bought this and loved it so I figured now that I’m home all the time and want to play with my makeup, I should give it a try. It is SO worth it. The lights dim to three different color tones so you can really see what your makeup looks like in daylight vs. indoor lighting. Plus it’s a steal at under $90!
Bamboo Makeup Remover Pads (Reusable!):
Ice Roller for Your Face: My beauty blogger friend swears by this to reduce puffiness in her face in the morning and also just because it feels GOOD. I tried it out for the first time this morning and can 100% attest to that. 10/10 recommend this little gadget!
Vibrating Red Light / Blue Light Eye Massager: The same beauty blogger friend recommended this to me. With red light and blue light therapy being all the rage in skincare right now (and costing a fortune at dermatologists offices) this at home version is such a great find! It’s a lower ‘dose’ of the light than you would get in a med-spa but it’s perfect for at home use. The vibrating massager can be switched between red lights (for fine lines & wrinkles) and blue lights (for acne or skin imperfections) for the ultimate at home spa treatment.
Bamboo Makeup Remover Pads (Reusable): I absolutely LOVE the idea of using this time at home to be more eco-concious. I read about how horrible disposable makeup wipes are for the environment so I started researching. These are reusable pads that you throw in the container when done and then when you do your laundry just throw them in to be washed. SO much better for the environment while still removing all your makeup. win win.
!!! Nespresso Pods !!!: Y’all, Nespresso may no longer be shipping but I’ve got your coffee needs covered because I found Nespresso Pods on Amazon Canada! I ordered this three pack which has Alex and my favorite flavors, Vanizio, Caramellizio and Hazelino.
Paint Canvases: We all need new activities and fun things to do right now, so I picked up these canvases and some acrylic paints (linked below) so that Alex and I can have a date night-in learning to paint! I found this video on YouTube that is a 30 minute couples painting tutorial, so we’re set to put these canvases to good use.
Acrylic Paints: I wanted a set that would have enough colors that was good quality, but not crazy expensive. Enter this set. š
Mini Cross-Stitch Kits: Where my fellow lawyers and social justice lovers at?! This RBG cross stitch is LIFE. So cool. I also bought this dessert cacti cross stitch! There are others too so definitely check them out to find a pattern you like. This is another great activity to have on hand to try something new and creative.
Open Book by Jessica Simpson: I’ve heard surprisingly good things about this book. Apparently Jessica Simpson really opens up about Stardom and it’s a really interesting read. Great if you’re looking for something light to read during this heavy time! The above link is for my US readers, here’s the Open Book link for my fellow Canadians.
