13 Must-Visit Bucket List Cities

April 24, 2020

After the positive feedback on last week’s post on places I want to travel to, I realized I don’t talk enough about travel here on LegalLee Blonde. I’ve been lucky enough to see so much of this beautiful world (34 countries and counting) and am excited to share with you the 13 best cities I’ve traveled to – 13 must-visit bucket list cities.

13 Must-Visit Bucket List Cities

1. Aruba:
One of my favorite places in the world is the island of Aruba. Flamingo Island alone is worth the visit, but the island just has so much to offer from perfect beaches, to amazing restaurants and friendly people.

2. Zanzibar, Tanzania
This tiny island off the coast of Tanzania is a little slice of untouched paradise. The night markets are bustling, the food is fresh and they’ve got arguably the world’s coolest restaurant- the Rock (pictured!)

3. Serengeti, Tanzania
Going on a safari in the Serengeti is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the best experiences of my life. I highly recommend going with a smaller, local company and staying in tents on the Serengeti!

4. Mykonos, Greece
One of the most beautiful Grecian islands, time seems to move slower here. The friendly people and calm pace is such a wonderful experience. Plus the pool parties are a blast!

5. Athens, Greece
The culture and history in Athens is unparalleled. From museums to ancient ruins there is so much to explore. Also, ridiculously cheap but delicious Greek food for the win!

6. Edinburgh, Scotland
This one is the real dark-horse on my list. I had NO idea I was even going to like Edinburgh, let alone love it. It’s one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s so rich with history! Also, Harry Potter fans need to visit Elephant Cafe-  the coffee shop where J.K. Rowling spent a lot of time writing Harry Potter (you can see the cemetery that inspired the name Tom Riddle and the castle that inspired Hogwarts (pictured) from the cafe!

7. Monaco
This tiny country is one of the cleanest, most organized countries I’ve ever been in. It’s immaculate and it’s worth a visit just to stare in awe at the ridiculous yachts and sports cars!! They’re also one of the only countried in the world where citizens pay no taxes. Crazy!

8. New Orleans, Louisiana
There are a lot of challenges facing New Orleans but the spirit and the culture always seems to pull through. I loved all the voodoo stuff, the incredible music, and the food (especially the beignets which are definitely the best dessert I’ve ever eaten) I’ve got a New Orleans Travel Guide you should check out!

9. San Diego, California
Southern California is iconic for a reason and everyone should experience the laid back surfer culture and perfect weather at least once in their life. I lived in SD back in 2008 and would totally move back if I could! (#GreenCardProblems lol)

10. Samoa
Yes this is a country not a city, but it’s so small you can visit it all. You’ll fly into Apia, which is great but my favorite is going to visit the To-Sua Ocean trench (pictured). Samoa is untouched by American influence and has the amazingness of the Caribbean weather/beaches without the cost.

11. Tuscany, Italy
A visit to this wine region in Italy will make anyone want to quit their job and move and open a winery lol. It’s such an incredible experience and I highly recommend doing wine tastings and culinary classes while you’re here!

12. Jerusalem, Israel
As part of my Master’s Degree I had the privilege of doing a course at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I fell in love with Old Town Jerusalem and seeing the mecca of SO many different religions and watching people get along was truly a life changing experience.

13. Hvar, Croatia
While Dubrovnik gets all the press, I personally fell in love with Hvar. The city has the best of everything Croatia has to offer. (Though I do recommend visting Zagreb and Dubrovnik too! Just pass on Split, it’s not worth it!) Here’s my full Travel Guide on Hvar & Split, Croatia!

There you have it! I can’t WAIT to travel again, I miss it so much!
What’s your favorite city you’ve ever traveled to!?

These are spectacular locations! I haven’t been to Edinburg or Monaco but I have heard great things about them. I can’t wait to eventually see it for myself. Thailand was a fun place and the Maldives remain my favorite travel spot! I hope your week is going well so far and happy Friday!

What a great list, Lee! The only city on your list I have visited is San Diego and it is such a beautiful place! One of my dear friends from college lived in Tanzania for a few years when she was in the Peace Corps. She always spoke very highly of that experience! Thanks for sharing and linking up!
