Since Alex & I moved in together in October we’ve been talking about turning the 2nd bedroom into my “Blogger Cloffice” (closet/office). Little did we know that with social distancing / work closures it would actually become my full time law office too and that I’d be spending 8 hour days in there. Luckily, we finished this room in the nick of time! Today I wanted to share with you the details on how we turned the 2nd bedroom into this cloffice and the details of my cloffice decor.
For a virtual ‘tour’ of my cloffice, head to my instagram; I’m sharing an IGTV video closet tour! I’ll also link all of the decor I’m talking about at the end of this post- so be sure to read to the end of that. For now, let’s chat about the different areas/aspects of the cloffice:
Closets / Clothing Storage:
As you can see I’ve got a LOT of clothing storage. We had an existing closet in the corner here and had the wall torn down to build in this massive structure. I love the hanging space; especially having the double layer hanging on the right hand side to hold more clothes. I also decided on a mix of drawers/open shelves so that I could have drawer storage for my clothes, but open shelves for shoes & handbags.
The Desk / *drum roll please* BED unit:
Yes, you read that correctly; desk / bed unit. Because this was our 2nd bedroom and because we have a lot of family and friends who come to visit we knew we needed to keep a space for guests to stay. Enter this custom wall-bed unit. We had this unit custom built to our space by Wall Beds International (their location in Vancouver is run by a woman named Erin who is as knowledgeable/helpful as she is sweet!)
What is so cool about this, in comparison to a traditional wall bed is A) how good the quality is so you would never know there’s a bed hidden back there and B) how the desk stays in place when you put the bed down!! You can actually leave the desk covered in stuff and it stays in place. Alex and I have tested it out with a mug of coffee on the desk and it was perfectly fine! Below is a picture of the bed when it’s down:
This has just been the perfect solution for us for this room, allowing us to keep the flexibility of having friends and family stay on occasion, while actually having a usable/livable space day to day.
Makeup Vanity:
I spent hours searching online for the perfect makeup vanity. They were all either too big or covered in flowers (why is that a thing?!). I also knew I wanted one without a built-in mirror because I love the vanity mirror I already had so much. This makeup vanity was the perfect find! As you can see it has a hutch (making it more vanity/less desk) and 4 drawers of storage. The final touch I still need to put on it is changing out the silver drawer knobs. I’ve ordered the exact gold knobs that are on the closet/wall bed unit and are going to put those on to tie the room together.
By the way, changing out drawer knobs / handles on items is one of my biggest tips for making pieces feel more unique and better suit your style and your space!
Wall Mirror & Decor:
My wall mirror is probably my favorite part of my cloffice. It is the perfect oversized mirror and it’s actually really lightweight (I move it around to various positions in this room quite a lot!) It comes in three finishes and I went with this silver one because I liked that it was a muted silver and thought it would be a nice change to have a different metal in the space.
As far as decor, I went with a southwestern vibe. I wanted to combine the look of white and gold classic girly with southwestern influence, which I’ve found myself really loving lately. (I got recently got 2 small cactus and have become a plant mom lol. I call them my cactus babies and am beyond obsessed).
To pull in southwestern style I went with this 5×8 area rug by Lulu & Georgia. Unfortunately, it’s sold out but I’ll link some similar Southwestern style rugs below. I also added this giant faux cactus – which was surprisingly great quality and this tall woven basket. I also added a couple faux hanging plants to the open shelves in the wall bed unit.
I am so happy with how this room turned out and am grateful to have it as a work space now that I’m working from home all the time! I know a lot of people are doing home decor updates right now – would you be interested in seeing a post on Makeup Vanity organization? Let me know!

Ps. You’ll see things linked multiple times where I could find the item at multiple retailers and/or where it’s the US vs. Canadian site! Happy shopping!

We have the same vanity mirror- isn’t it awesome?! And I’m with you- what is the deal with all the mirrors with flowers? So odd.
This is such an amazing use of this space- guest bedroom, office, and closet! Brilliant and so chic.

Le Stylo Rouge
yes, it is so so good!! Haha I know the flowers thing is so weird. It’s like they’re designing it for grandmas.. or disney princesses locked away in their castles. So strange.
OKAY. I have to say I am ridiculously green with envy over that desk-to-bed situation. I NEED. My office is my favorite place in my townhome, but we have no guest room, and I’d love somewhere for friends and family to stay if they visit. This is such an awesome solution! I wish they weren’t based in Canada so I could hire them haha!
It is honestly SUCH a great investment for a room. I love, love, love how much space I have not having to have a bed taking up this room! And lol aww! I think there are US locations too let me check for you!
I love my cloffice! The murphy bed is such a nice touch – super functional!
Thanks Candace!
You did such a great job with this room! It’s simple, yet very chic and glamorous! I love it! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Thanks Rebecca! I’m so happy with it!
Your spare room looks lovely and I like that it has a hidden bed – so clever! Looks so light and airy in there!
I just did a wardrobe room tour on my blog too! Perfect time for it with us all being home, haha! Hubby and I were just saying the other day that we are glad we are in home isolation in this house and not our old house, as we have a proper office space we can use here, which is wonderful! Even if it does get filled with toys and books and things when the kids are doing their online schoolwork in here too, ha!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! The new link up is live on my blog now, I’d love you to join again.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend 🙂
Ah I love that! I need to go check yours out!!
I love how functional and organized this space is, while being pretty at the same time!
Thank you so much!
