How beautiful is this vineyard?! On the way home from our road trip to Banff & Lake Louise, Alex & I spent a night in Kelowna so we could explore some wineries. A lot of people don’t realize that there is a British Columbia wine country, but there is! The variety of micro-climates throughout BC’s Okanagan Valley mean that we’ve got everything from ice wine (yummmm), to Chardonnay, to Merlot – right here in BC! There are over 200 wineries in British Columbia wine country!
On this particular day-and-a-half trip to wine country we were able to go to 4 different wineries – including the gorgeous one you see in these pictures – Quail’s Gate Winery.
Quail’s Gate is one of my personal favorites for many reasons: the delicious 2018 Pinot Noir, the incredible views of the lake, and the restaurant on site that has amazing food! Alex and I spent way too long doing wine tastings and wandering this beautiful property.
I’ve been thinking of doing a blog post review on my favorite wineries in BC’s wine country … would you be interested in that!? Let me know in the comments.
As you can see from these pictures I wore a loose summer mini dress (my favorite kind of dress) for our winery adventures. Despite the fact that I bought this sunflower dress only two weeks ago it is already sold out. Ugh! I am really loving sunflower print in general for summer though since it has such a retro meets romantic feel to it. Below I’ve rounded up a bunch of sunflower dresses for you to check out / shop. We’ve got everything from a $700 Dolce & Gabbana tiered sunflower mini dress to a $10 t-shirt dress from Romwe, so you’ve got options lol!
I can’t wait to get back to wine country; I hope that with everything going on with COVID we have the chance to drive up again this summer, but if not I am planning a nice long vacation there for 2021!
