One of my favorite blog posts I’ve done this year was my spring home decor inspiration post. With summer now upon us I wanted to share the same style post, but with summer home decor inspiration! I’ve found myself really loving home decor this past year and with everyone spending so much time at home in 2020 (#COVIDrealities) I’ve been even more motivated to create spaces that are functional, beautiful and bring a little joy into my life. If you are similarly interested read on for my summer home decor inspiration organized by room.
For a foyer or entrance way I wanted to really bring in the joy of summer with bright colors and clean lines. This white bench with rattan storage baskets is so practical but looks so chic. Paired with an orange pattern rug and that orange/floral pillow it’s summer perfection! I love the idea of adding a summer wreath to your door, and this one with oranges ties everything in. The lamp, oddly enough, is considered kids room decor, but man-oh-man is it ever PERFECT for a entrance way! it’s slim enough to fit in a corner and add some light while also giving storage. The shelves would be a great place to put some greenery and a tray for your keys.
I went with a coastal look for my living room summer home decor inspiration. The baby blues & rattan are calming and create a space that really invites winding down and relaxing. My favorite thing has got to be the gingham baby blue rug – it is absolutely the sweetest! I also love the small rattan bar cart!
Farmhouse style is always my inspiration for kitchen decor, and in the summer this becomes even more fun. I LOVE the cream and light wood dining room chairs & the navy blue barstools. The kitchen island you see is such a great way to change up your kitchen decor, especially if you don’t have a built in island. This guy is moveable and is a great way to have some extra cooking space for a great price!
Kitchen accessory wise, the rattan place mats and matching coasters are too cute for summer and you can’t go wrong with these beautiful dishes which come in a couple of colors. I also love the monogram mug and floral water pitcher.
Keeping things light and airy in the bedroom, I love the white bedding with tan tassel detail. It’s crisp but not boring. Pampas grass has been a HUGE decor trend and I love how it looks in a bedroom. I found this pampas grass on sale for only $10!! Accessorize your bedroom with lots of florals, pillows and lighting and you are set for summer!
If you’ve got a backyard our big outdoor space at your home, chances are you’ll be spending a ton of time there this summer. Sprucing it up with some new furniture and decor is worth the investment as we get ready for long summer days outdoors. Sidenote: If you’re dealing with a patio or small outdoor space only (we are too!) check out my blog post on balcony decor inspiration.
For those of you blessed with a big backyard, these furniture pieces are AMAZING. The L-couch is one that will last you for years and it’s classic design will always look in style. Add a coordinating dining table with bench or chair seating like this gorgeous mix and match set and you are ready for summer entertaining!
I hope you enjoyed this post and are feeling inspired to decorate for summer and love your space!
