Today marks SIX YEARS since I started LegalLee Blonde! I am basically a grandma in the fashion blogging world and I am totally okay with that. It’s been a wild ride these past 6 years and while there are aspects of fashion blogging that are pretty draining, I feel really lucky to have stumbled into this world not realizing how much it would bring into my life. I’ve made some amazing friends because of blogging (Jess, Kristy, Britta, Anca – all amazing women, all amazing fashion bloggers) and had some insane experiences (more on that below). Today I thought it would be fun to do a huge recap post and share:
– My best and worst outfit from each year of blogging (heaven help me 😂)
– My favorite blogging memories/experiences
1. “Winter Glam” – December 2014
Honestly, minus the chunky ankle boots this is an outfit I would totally still wear. I still love the look of feminine dress with a longline blazer and a hat.
Outfit Rating: 9/10
2. “These are a few of my favorite things” – November 2014
Again, this outfit I’m pretty into. I don’t love the long untucked t-shirt look *shudders* but the layering of stripe with denim and a red coat is something I would still do, and I think it looks good with the black skinny jeans and leopard flats. The bag I would go without.

“Nerd Alert” – October 2014
OH MY. The poses, the rhinestone glasses, the long tunic, the post title… I am at a loss for words on this one. Click through to the post to look at more images, it’s worth the laugh. 🤦♀️
Outfit Rating: 2/10
“A Dress for F(All)” – November 2015
I still have this dress and would/will definitely still wear it. You can’t go wrong with simple dresses that you can transition year to year.
Outfit Rating: 9/10
“When Life Gives you Lemons, Wear ‘Em” – August 2015
OOOF. You guys. What on earth is happening with this look?! The neon lemons and the folded cuff shorts with neon yellow rockstud style heels?! I have no words.

29 Things I Know to Be True – April 2015
In honor of my 29th birthday I wrote this blog post and re-reading it now most of what I wrote still resonates with me.
Style Inspiration: Amal Clooney – March 2016
I did a series back in 2016 where I tried to recreate celebrity outfits with affordable pieces. This was one of those posts and I still LOVE this chic all white skirt suit look inspired by Amal Clooney.
Outfit Rating: 9/10
“Aubergine” – September 2016
I wish I could tell 2016 me not to wear colored pants. It’s not for me. Also, tuck your darn shirt in Lee. What the heck. lol.

Tips for Looking Professional in Your Winter Outerwear (Part 2) – January 2016
I re-read these tips and stand by them! 2016 me was on the ball with keeping professional looking with my winter wear!
“Work Wear: Leopard Print Coat” – December 2017
I still really like this outfit. I still have this faux fur coat and I love how dramatic and extra I feel when I wear it. I like the all black underneath the coat and think the hat adds a nice touch.
Outfit Rating: 9/10
“Olivia Pope Style” – February 2017
I still have this coat and it is probably my favorite winter coat to this date as far as the shape/fit goes. I’m not a huge fan of the grey and actually have been trying to find this exact shape coat in camel ever since I bought this one.Outfit Rating: 9/10
“Pink Blazer & Flared Denim” – May 2017
I mean, I’ll give my self some points here for sentiment – I was trying to style my grandmother’s scarf, but this was so, so not the way to do it. Also the flared jeans are not working for me.
Outfit Rating: 2/10
“Palm Springs: A Girls Weekend Travel Guide” – May 2017
I had such a blast on this trip and would definitely still recommend Palm Springs and Los Arboles Hotel for a weekend getaway.
1. “Leopard x2 & Headwraps as a Fashion Trend” – February 2018
I still love this dramatic outfit. Clearly not something I can wear everyday (I shot this look in NYC during fashion week) but I still really love the look and love the idea of tying a longsleeve shirt into a headwrap.
Outfit Rating: 10/10
2. “Los Angeles Work Day Outfits” – January 2018
This outfit is also really extra, but I had so much fun with it. I definitely would wear the sleeveless blazer belted over a shirt dress again, that’s still a trendy look, but I’d pass on the weird 80’s style work out leggings and rhinestone sunglasses.
Outfit Rating: 8/10
“Stripes & Joggers” – September 2018
This outfit isn’t horrible, I just don’t like it because it isn’t ‘me’. I remember buying these pants thinking ‘everyone is wearing joggers I have to get joggers’ but never feeling comfortable in them. They were so comfortable but I couldn’t figure out how to style them and didn’t feel like myself.

1. Real Talk: Why We Need to Talk About High Functioning Depression – June 2018
This post is one I still think is extremely important. I hope you’ll take the time to read it <3
2. 10 Fashion Pieces Every Woman Needs by Age 30 – February 2018
This is one of my favorite fashion posts because I love that it’s not just about promoting sales and fast fashion but helping you figure out what staple pieces to have in your closet.
1. “Winter Trend Alert: Layered Coats” – January 2019
I like this outfit except maybe the leggings. I feel like the double layer coat thing should have had jeans or pants with a bit more structure underneath. Otherwise, this functional trend is still one I am 100% behind and plan on wearing again this winter!
Outfit Rating: 9/10
2. “The Do’s & Don’ts of Styling Lace for the Office” – June 2019
Were we not in crazy COVID times I totally would have worn this exact outfit to the office again this spring. I love the blouse, love the lace skirt and I think the belt really polishes off the outfit.
Outfit Rating: 10/10
“Lilac Culottes and a Versatile Blouse” – April 2019
I don’t like this outfit for a few reasons. One, the fit of the culottes is brutal. Part of why I’m moving away from this really cheap retailers is for that reason. They don’t sit right and it makes the whole outfit look bad. I also don’t love this blouse. I like it, but for the price I wish I loved it.

1. DIY Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples – October 2019
This is one of my favorite posts of all time. I think it’s the first post where you guys see Alex?! And I just had so much fun coming up with these costume ideas and dressing up. Plus I love that it’s a post that is ‘timeless’ in that people can find it every fall when looking for costume ideas!
2. Real Talk: Why You Should Go To Therapy – March 2019
Honestly I just think this is a really important post still today… actually, especially today in light of increasing isolation during COVID times.
3. The Best & Worst Drug Store Mascaras – February 2019
I loved doing this beauty post and comparing so many different affordable mascaras. I hope you like it!
I’ll keep this short and sweet. There are a lot to choose from but some of my favorite memories and experiences from these past 6 years of fashion blogging are:
– Attending my first New York Fashion Week in September 2018
– Attending every fall fashion week ever since
– Meeting Diane Von Furstenberg and having her pick out which piece from her new line she’d most recommend for me.
– Having a female empowerment lunch with amazing women including Rupi Kaur.
– Being featured in InStyle magazine back in October 2018 (This is the outfit they featured in case anyone is wondering!)
– Going on my first press trip – a trip to Toronto with Nespresso last winter
– Signing my first 5 figure deal with a brand I love
– Traveling to LA (repeatedly lol) to get creatively inspired, shoot content and spend time with my blogging friends Jess, Lily and Keyma.
– Taking Alex to Seattle on a blogging trip and getting to spoil him with the free meals, hotel, etc. It was his first experience in the world of blogging and compensated trips and it was so fun to experience it anew through his eyes.
That’s all I can think of for now! Thank you so much for reading this walk-down-memory-lane lol. As always, if you have any questions let me know!
I love seeing your favourite and least favourite of each year! Such a great idea.

Haha aw no way! That’s awesome, thanks! It shows how personal fashion is and I love that!
It’s so fun to see how one’s style changes over time! I would bet that some of your “worst” outfits are still better than my “best” outfits from years ago haha, you’ve always been so stylish!
Haha aw that is so sweet Annie! And no way lol we all have cringe worthy looks to look back on haha but that’s what makes fashion fun!! It’s all about playing around and wearing things you love in the moment. Who cares if you don’t love the look 10 years later!
I loved reading this and following your blog
Aw thank you Shirley, I so appreciate that!!
Oh my goodness, this is such a good post given you’re rating your past style. How unique, I have a feeling I would hate a lot of my past outfit haha!
Haha thank you! I wanted to do something a bit different and I thought this would be fun. I’m glad you like it!
The Leopard Look with Gold Skirt is hands down my favorite! I think we all can look back at some outfits and cringe lol. Congrats on your milestone!
It’s one of my all time favorite looks too I think! And haha so true about looking back and cringing lol!
This was such a fun read! What a great way to celebrate.
Thank you so much Anna, I’m glad you liked it!!

Jill – Doused in Pink
Thank you so much! It was a fun post to write!!
Lee, I loved this post SO much! I’ve been following you for quite some time now (you were one of the first fashion bloggers I discovered and still my favorite!) and it’s been so fun to watch your style evolve over the years. Also, this is just such a great post idea! I definitely have some very cringy outfits on my blog… haha. Also, the worst outfit of 2016 with the purple-ish pants – I disagree! I think it’s super cute and that you can totally rock the purple pants. I’m also kind of surprised you didn’t post that one outfit of you with the gold pants and floral blouse (you posted it again on Instagram recently). That’s definitely one of my favorite looks from you!
Anyway, happy six years and hope you’re having a great day.
Miles of smiles,
Grace

Aw this is so so sweet, thank you so much! And ahh that gold pants outfit is definitely one of my favorites too, it was so hard to pick only one or two from each year lol! Hope you’re having a great day too! Thank you for always being such a kind supportive reader! <3
