spring outfit: blazer | out of office graphic tee | similar pink midi skirt | sneakers | sunnies
When I planned out this post spring weather was just starting to hit Vancouver and now, somehow, we’ve gone straight past spring and are in a full on summer heat wave here. As I type this I’m drinking an iced coffee and wearing shorts and a t-shirt while daydreaming of air conditioning lol. Despite the unexpected summer vibes, it is still only mid-April so a spring outfit and spring fashion are still very much on my radar, as they probably are on yours!
As far as spring fashion goes, I find myself going back to the same spring outfit formula season after season – a midi skirt, a tee, and a blazer. I tweak this formula a bit each season based on what’s trending (never thought I’d be wearing a midi skirt and sneakers but 2021 is all about comfort fashion, so here we are). The main way I tweak this spring outfit formula each year is with accessories. Shoes, as I mentioned above, are an easy way to update an outfit as is a trendy handbag. Crochet and rattan materials are trending for bags this year (hence this bucket bag) as are – heaven help us – small bags.
While I am finding myself drawn more towards the small handbag trend than I thought I would be, I still can’t get over the middle school throwback that comes along with it. I swear, ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ starts playing in my head every time I choose a small handbag over one of my go-to giant tote bags. To be fair, I’m not mad about a little extra Britney in my day, but I do wish I also had my tamagochi and cherry coke flavored lipsmacker.
Back to this spring outfit formula; layering is key during the changing season and so I just find a blazer over a graphic tee to be an easy way to look polished but keep yourself comfortable no matter the temp. Plus, graphic tees are just fun! This graphic tee says ‘Out of Office’, which is basically my 2021 mantra lol. For this outfit I added my pistachio blazer; which is one of the trending colors for spring 2021. For my fellow corporate ladies, the blazer has matching pants and it makes a perfect wear to work suit for spring/summer. You can see the full suit styled here.
On to some spring goals! Do you make yourself seasonal goals? It’s something I started doing last year and I’ve found it helps to have things written down. I also like keeping you all updated on my personal life as well as fashion so sharing my goals with you here just feels like the right choice.
5 Goals for Spring 2021
1. Finish Our Wedding To Do List:
Clearly this is priority 1 for me. Our microwedding is coming up so fast (July 10th) and we still have a lot do. The fact that Canada is doing terribly with vaccination roll out and that Ontario (where our wedding will be) is now in the strictest lock down they have since the pandemic started is adding an extra layer of stress and complication. We had to cancel our trip home to meet with vendors and still trying to figure out how we’re going to make everything work. I alternate between being sad and being angry and the emotional roller coaster has definitely been taking it’s toll on me the past few weeks. Which leads me to goal two…
2. Slow Down at Work:
Believe me when I tell you that everything about that sentence was hard for me to write. It goes against my very foundation to not see work as the highest priority. I have been slowly unpacking my own issues around work ethic and only seeing my value as what I produce work wise and my academic/career achievements. Along with that, I’ve been actively trying to take on less. For spring, my goal is to continue working my butt off on the cases that I have, but not take on any new clients.
3. Track What I Buy:
I am terrible when it comes to paying attention the clothes (and home decor) that I buy. I love to shop (no shocker there) and while I don’t feel like I need to buy less at the moment, I do want to make a concerted effort to keep a running list of everything I buy each month so I can really see where my money is going and what I actually need to buy.
4. Fashion DIY:
One thing you probably don’t know about me is that I love arts and crafts! I was such a creative kid and even throughout college I would routinely DIY shirts or handbags our make jewelry. I have moved away from that the past few years with how busy I’ve been and there is one particular DIY I am dying to try this spring! I just ordered the supplies of Etsy so I am determined to make it. I’ll definitely share it here once it’s done!
5. Workout a Minimum of 3x Per Week:
I started working out consistently in February (after doing very little during the 11 preceding pandemic months). Part of it is definitely image motivated (wanting to look good in my wedding dress) but since I am also focusing on loving my body as it is and speaking kindly to myself, I’m trying really hard to not go down the ‘weight loss for the wedding’ rabbit hole and instead focus on working out to feel good. To feel accomplished. For spring I want to workout at least 3 times a week and 4 times whenever possible. I’ve been doing shorter workouts because I find this helps me stay motivated to do them more frequently.
And there you have it! My spring 2021 goals. Thanks for reading! I’d love to chat more about your goals – my comments, email, and instagram DM’s are always open. XO, Lee

Isn’t it great! Such a staple for a summer vacation!
Daannnnng number 2 hit me SO HARD. That’s exactly what I’m working on right now. In fact, I’m now attempting to take 2 days off each week, which is so tough for me because I’ve always associated my work ethic with my success. It’s tough to separate! We can do this though!!!
It is SO tough! i’m so proud of you for even trying to take that time off. baby steps. 😀
I really related to your list for spring Lee. I also am trying to work out more, and be more aware of my spending on clothes. Not to mention work ethic! I love to work and feel grateful that I enjoy my work, though there are other areas of my life that need attention. Think being a content creator can be all consuming, since much of it is based on our own lives, a hazard of the job!
