3 Starbucks Secret Menu Drinks to Try This Summer

One of my guilty pleasures in life is researching Starbucks secret menu drinks and coming up with my own tweaks and trying them out each season. I haven’t done a blog post on Starbucks secret menu drinks before and wanted to give you a place that you can easily bookmark or come back to for some fun new drinks to try this summer. The names below are ones I made up, but I’ll write out below each drink exactly what to say to order it! Enjoy!!

1. Strawberry Pineapple Refresher (pictured above)

The Inside Scoop:

This is probably my favorite Starbucks secret menu drink for summer 2021. It’s so refreshing and tastes like candy! This one is pretty sweet, so order 1 less pump of the pineapple ginger syrup if you don’t like your drinks too sweet. This baby is caffeine free!

How to Order:

Ask for a Grande pink drink with no inclusions, with 2 pumps of the *new* pineapple ginger syrup and 1 pump of vanilla. Next:
If you drink dairy: ask for the vanilla sweet cream cold foam blended with strawberry puree
If you’re dairy free (like me!): ask for a soy cold foam (it doesn’t ‘fluff’ as well but it’s better than nothing) blended with the strawberry puree.

2) Vanilla Moon Matcha

The Inside Scoop:

The ‘moon matcha’ has taken over instagram as the Starbucks secret menu summer drink. I tweaked this recipe a bit and now *love* how it tastes! (the original was too matcha-y for me!) If you like a subtle matcha taste but aren’t a huge fan of it at full intensity this is the drink for you! It’s much smoother than regular matcha and tastes creamy and just a bit sweet. This one is great if you’re tired since the matcha gives you a caffeine boost that lasts longer and has less of a ‘crash’ than coffee!

How to Order:

Ask for a Grande Iced Green Tea Latte (Aka. Iced Matcha Latte) with coconut milk, without liquid sugar (otherwise it will be too sweet!) Add 2 pumps of chai and 1 pump of vanilla syrup instead. Next:
If you drink dairy: top with vanilla cold foam
If you’re dairy free: top with soy cold foam

3) Cake Batter Iced Latte

The Inside Scoop:

This drink is everything you need as a sweet treat on a hot summer day. It tastes a bit like cookie batter! There’s limited caffeine in this one (chai base) but you can also add in 1 shot of espresso for a caffeine boost and then it just tastes like coffee cake!

How to Order:

Ask for a Grande Iced Chai Latte with coconut milk. (half sweet if you don’t like drinks too sweet) Add two pumps of brown sugar syrup.
If you drink dairy: top with salted caramel cold foam
If you’re dairy free: top with soy cold foam w/ one pump of sugar free caramel syrup

I hope you love these Starbucks secret menu drinks for summer as much as I do! If you have any Starbucks favorites, please share! I’m always looking to try out new ones. Stay tuned on the blog this summer for more summer-must-try recipes (from restaurants and recipes to make at home). If you missed my first summer recipe – the kale, tempeh and roasted chickpea salad that Alex and I are addicted to, be sure to check it out!

Oooh these sound like so much fun! I don’t drink Starbucks drinks as often anymore, but when I do, I usually opt for the fun mixes rather than just generic coffee. I’d love to try the Vanilla Moon Matcha bev. That sounds right up my alley!
