My Paris Fashion Week themed bridal shower this past weekend was an absolute blast. My mother in law (pictured above) along with two of my bridesmaids planned everything and pulled off the event flawlessly! With Vancouver just starting it’s re-opening plan this was basically the first event any of the 25 guests had attended in 15 months and everyone’s excitement and joy because of this was through the roof which really just made everything that much more fun.
Personally I thought the theme they came up with – Paris Fashion Week – was such a clever, unique theme that works so well for a fashion-loving bride like myself. Paris as a theme is a bit overdone (in my opinion) but Paris Fashion Week? That’s just really unique!
The shower was a luncheon at a local Italian restaurant and my bridesmaids did a great job of decorating the space to fit the theme. Instead of the traditional “She Said Yes” banner, as you can see above they went with “She Said Oui” which I thought was such a clever touch! Each table was decorated with a Dior shopping bag (my favorite designer brand!) and custom cookies that one of my Instagram followers, Farmer’s Daughter’s Kitchen, gifted me (so kind!) I also had a copy of the latest edition of Vogue magazine waiting for me at my seat!
I think my favorite part of the shower was the unique Paris Fashion Week themed bridal shower activity that my bridesmaid’s came up with. Each table was given a beret and a bunch of craft supplies. As a group they had to decorate their beret to represent love / marriage / Alex and I. They then had to nominate one person from each table to be the model and we had a ‘runway walk off’ in which I had to select the winning beret. It was so much fun watching the women – including Alex’s great aunt in her 80’s and 6 year old niece – take to the runway and strut their stuff! I didn’t get any photos but follow me on instagram if you want to see some video clips! I’ll post those to my feed later today.
I don’t have many photos from the event because I left my phone in my purse and didn’t touch it the entire time. It was amazing to be fully present in the moment, but I’m glad I have at least these few snaps and videos that others took!
Overall it was such a wonderful bridal shower and I am so thankful to my in-laws and bridesmaids for all of their hard work. We also got some ah-mazing gifts that I can’t wait to tell you about – next week I’ll share a post on everything that’s on our Wedding registry (there are some great ideas for any of you fellow brides-to-be looking for ideas of what to put on yours, but also just great home decor recommendations for anyone looking for some new stuff this year!)
My outfit for my shower is probably my favorite outfit I own, aside from my two wedding dresses! I’m wearing the Emily silk jumpsuit & convertible skirt by Alexia Maria. This was a major splurge, but it was so worth it. The quality is unreal and it’s such a unique statement piece. It comes in a ton of color options – including white which would also be amazing for any fellow brides-to-be!
It’s less than one month to our wedding (Ahhh!) and I am in full on crunch time getting everything ready. I can’t wait to be “LegalLeeWed”! 🤣🙊
