Watermelon Colada – The Best Summer Cocktail Recipe

July 30, 2021

TGIF! This week has been a L-O-N-G one and could not be more grateful that the weekend is here! I’ve been making this watermelon colada recipe all summer long and figured a Friday would be the perfect time to share the recipe with all of you! This watermelon colada is hands down my favorite summer cocktail – it’s delicious, refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day!

Ingredients

*makes 2 drinks

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender
  2. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy (ps. our Vitamix blender is currently on sale and it is the most amazing blender ever!)
  3. Garnish, if desired
  4. Enjoy!!

Notes

    1. Freeze your cubed watermelon in a ziploc bag for a minimum of 4 hours. Overnight is ideal.
    2. If you don’t want to wait, you can make this recipe with cubed watermelon that isn’t frozen- it just won’t have the same creamy texture. Tastes delicious still but the texture is not as good, so wait and freeze if you can!

Try this summer cocktail and let me know what you think! I will definitely be making it this weekend!

For the first time in I don’t know how long Alex and I actually have a free weekend. I’m so excited for some downtime; I think we’re going to have a relaxing beach day on Saturday! Check out my post on the ultimate beach day set-up if you missed it!

On Sunday we’re also planning a low-key day; hopefully finalizing our honeymoon plans! We are planning to take the entire month of September off work and are hoping to go to Greece and Italy. We’ve booked our flight to Milan, but so far no flight home. Maybe we’ll just stay!? lol.

Have a great weekend.
Xo,
Lee

  5. Sounds so refreshing and delicious TBH! Love the idea of using coconut rum instead of just regular rum too, so you can really get that tropical punch xx
