One of the unique things we did for our wedding 2.0 in October was have our wedding photographer join us the evening before the wedding to snap some pictures from our wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
Wedding photos are, obviously amazing, but I really cherish having these more candid, relaxed photos to look back on as well. They remind me of these incredible few days when not only did I marry Alex (again lol), but I actually got to have all of my loved ones in one place spending time together. That is something I had dreamed of for years. My bestie Maddie (who lives in Ontario) finally got to meet my closest girlfriends out here and getting to see everyone hanging out and laughing just honestly meant so much. I 100% recommend any bride to be consider having photos taken of their wedding rehearsal / rehearsal dinner. 🙂
I figured I would share a few of these photos because I really do enjoy sharing the behind the scenes, real life moments with all of you in addition to outfits, travel posts and all the ‘fancier’ content I share here on LLB.
Also read on for more of the ‘inside scoop’ on our wedding venue, photographer, the (awesome) restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner at, and – of course – my wedding rehearsal dinner outfit!
As you can see from the above photos, our photographer Laura Olson met up with us at our venue, The Vancouver Club, to snap some pictures of the actual wedding rehearsal. We planned our rehearsal dinner for our wedding party and all family members to take place about 30 minutes after the wedding rehearsal so we could enjoy a walk over to the dinner venue, with time to stop and snap photos of the bridesmaids and of Alex and I along the way! My bridesmaids Sarah, Britta, Maddie and Nat looked amazing!
It got chilly on our walk so I added my late grandmother’s vintage fur stole to my rehearsal dinner outfit. Not only did I feel extra glam, but it was nice to have a piece of my grandmother with me during this wonderful day.
When we got to our restaurant for dinner the bridesmaids and I stopped to have a dance party outside (because obvious choice lol). Honestly I was just so happy to have them all there and to be celebrating. We had our rehearsal dinner in the private room at L’Abattoir; which I highly recommend! The food at L’Abattoir is always amazing and the long table in the private room is perfect for groups of 10-25 people (I think we had about 20?!)
Last but not least I couldn’t not share the details of my wedding rehearsal dinner outfit! Next to my wedding dresses themselves, this might be my favorite outfit of all time. I wore the Amelia White Jumpsuit by Nadine Merabi. This showstopping jumpsuit literally had people stopping me in the street. It has both sequins/jewels and feathers and I just can’t get enough of it! It does run small though so I’d recommend sizing up a size. I went with my usual size 6 and while it fit, it was very, very tight so I wish I had the 8!
I styled the white jumpsuit with my clear heels – I just love the look of a clear shoe (very trendy) with white and these clear heels have the prettiest crystal embellishment on the toe. They are a lookalike for a designer style, but these ones from Lulu’s are under $50.
These photos are fabulous! Love that fur stoll you have on with your look. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
