My Baby Shower

June 1, 2022

On Sunday my mother, mother in law, and sweet friend Sarah threw me an incredible baby shower for Baby B. It was such a wonderful day and I wanted to share it with all you.

The shower was held at the Landing at the Beach House; a restaurant / event space in West Vancouver that I would recommend to anyone in greater Vancouver looking for a venue for a small event. ‘The Landing’ is a private room above the main beach house restaurant and I the space is truly breathtaking – the ocean and city skyline views are incredible and the space is so bright and airy!

We did a baby shower brunch from 10:30 – 2:00 pm. We started with mocktails and appetizers and I loved that I was able to spend time talking to every guest. I had I think 27 people in attendance.

I swear my love language is spending time with people I love, and more specifically having people I love from different areas of my life all spending time together. It’s one of the reasons Alex and my rehearsal dinner before the wedding is one of the best nights of my life, and this baby shower is definitely on the list of best days as well for this exact reason!

My best friend Maddie was in from Toronto, as were my mom, my aunt, and my sister Rachel. My other sister Sarah and 14 year old niece flew down from Northern BC, and my friend Sarah (who helped plan the shower) was in from Australia!

The brunch was lovely and we played two games during it (I don’t love the traditional baby shower games personally), so this was perfect! My mom made up a baby-related trivia game which was really fun. We also did the ‘guess when baby will be born’ thing, so I’m curious to see who will win!

As far as decor, it was a gold, green and white color scheme and I was in love with every detail – including the incredible cookies my mother in law made herself.

One thing that I thought was really unique and fun that we had was a DIY flower bar. This was the party favor guests got to take home! We had a bunch of different flowers and greenery and guests were able to build their own bouquets. People loved it!

We ended the shower by enjoying the sunshine on the patio and just chatting and spending time together which was absolutely wonderful.

Overall I truly could not have asked for a better day, it was something I will cherish forever.
