How freaking cute is this Selkie dress dupe?! I knew i wanted the iconic Selkie cupcake look for my baby shower luncheon in Ontario (not my big baby shower which I talk about here if you missed it), but since it’s a dress that I don’t anticipate wearing more than a handful of times I didn’t want to invest in a Selkie dress. I was thrilled when I found this dress, which has the exact same silhouette, and is the most beautiful pink floral fabric and it’s $40!
I wore this dress with these cream colored bow heels … which I’m just now realizing are also a designer dupe. They’re from Amazon but look a lot like the Mach & Mach bow pumps that have been spotted on a ton of celebrities and fashionistas as of late. They come in a few colors, and I may go back and order the black as well. They fit true to size.
For my baby shower lunch I wore the dress and heels with one of my all time favorite coats – the “Champagne All Day” car coat by SUITE. This coat is a bit of a splurge, but I think it’s so worth it since it’s a completely unique statement piece you can wear on top of so many looks. I’ve worn this coat over dresses to high tea, bridal events, while on honeymoon … you name it, I’ve worn it for it lol.

Life Lately:
By way of a quick life update for those of you who may not have seen on instagram – life is basically utter chaos right now, but in a great way & I’m so grateful.
First off, I started a new job! After a lot of soul searching I decided to end my career as a defense lawyer and accept a government position as a prosecutor. I started last week, and while starting a job at 8 1/2 months pregnant has been a bit insane I’m really enjoying the work and know this was the best career move for me and my family. As this is a government position I won’t be talking about it moving forward, but I’ll still be sharing general career advice and obviously wear-to-work fashion moving forward.
In addition to the new job, you may have seen that Alex and I bought a house!!! After months and months our house hunt has finally come to an end. We bought a beautiful home here in Vancouver and I couldn’t be more excited. The only downside is that our possession date is July 21 … yep, that’s 7 days after Baby B’s due date lol. Looks like we’ll be moving with a newborn, so please send us all the good luck vibes for that 😳.
While dealing with those big life changes I’m also dealing with the day to day of being 35 weeks pregnant. I feel like I had such an easy pregnancy for the most part and really can’t complain, but the past 2 weeks things have been getting significantly more challenging as I deal with major back and hip pain and just generally being unable to do much. It will be interesting to see how the last month goes; I’m hoping our cooler temperatures stick around!
As you’d expect I have been going NUTS buying things for Baby B which I’ve absolutely loved. If you missed what items we received for him, check out my post on what’s on my baby registry. In addition to those items I’ve bought him so many cute outfits – I’m hooked on Kyte Baby, and most recently I’ve ordered this baby memory box and this diaper bag backpack which looks legit life-changing lol. I love that it’s unisex so Alex can easily take it when he takes Noodle out as well.

My goodness gracious, your life IS nuts lately! I can’t imagine juggling all of that at once – let alone while pregnant. You’re superwoman, for sure! And you look PHENOMENAL! I love the dress AND the coat so much.
Haha ya it’s been a bit nutty that’s for sure. And thank you so much!!!
Oh I love this! I can’t justify spending money on a Selkie dress either because it’s so trendy and I know I’m not going to get much wears out of it for the money I spend. What a great dupe though! I LOVE how it looks with your baby bump!
Thank you so much Deborah!
What a whirlwind! Congrats on your new home! Your dress is so dreamy and looks stunning on you!
