Postpartum outfit ideas coming at ya!! As you’d expect with a 5 week old, I haven’t had a lot of time for fashion posts these past few weeks, but I really wanted to get this post up even though I don’t have my usual quality photos because I think postpartum outfit ideas are so important for new moms. You NEED to be comfortable as a new mom but sometimes you just want to feel like your ‘normal’ self by wearing a cute outfit – so I’m here to help!
I’ve been trying out different ‘outfit formulas’ these past few weeks and am now able to bring you my list of the the three outfit formulas that every postpartum woman needs. These are all breastfeeding friendly outfits for anyone who, like me, is breastfeeding and needing their outfits to accommodate that.
Pictured above, this is an outfit formula that you cannot go wrong with right now! Celebrity new moms have made this look iconic these past few months and there’s a reason us regular new moms are loving it as well – it’s effortlessly chic while being comfortable and breast feeding friendly!
To achieve this look pair any comfy crop top (I’ll link some of my favorites below) with highrise leggings or bike shorts and an oversized button down. This look with a classic white button down is considered the ‘new mom uniform’ right now; and looks so chic, but I also love a colored or patterned button down for a more playful look. I couldn’t resist the striped version I’m wearing because there is a matching baby boy outfit!! Any time I can match with Oakland I’m taking that opportunity lol.
To finish of this look add socks, dad sneakers, gold hoop earrings and a slicked back bun or ponytail.
Are you trying to choose an outfit on zero sleep? Been there lol. A romper/jumpsuit with a button front is a perfect postpartum outfit since it’s ‘one and done’ (no need to match bottoms and a top) and the button front makes breastfeeding easy. My hot pink denim jumpsuit is from One Loved Babe and I can’t recommend it enough! I would say it runs a bit big though so size down if you’re between sizes. I’ll link other button front jumpsuits and rompers that I love below!
My final outfit formula / postpartum outfit idea is another ‘one and done’ – an activewear dress! These have been so popular in 2022 and they’re a fashion trend that works well for postpartum moms. These are great because the stretchy material combined with the built in bra allow you to easily take one strap down and nurse while the rest of the outfit stays in place. They’re also great for any moms also chasing a toddler or young kiddo around since you have the look of a dress without worrying about flashing anyone! I’ll link my favorite activewear dresses, including my Abercrombie traveler dress with cutouts below.
Fab ideas! Love that pink jumpsuit and it looks cute on you.
