Hello! It’s rare that I do blog posts anymore but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the one thing that will always pull me right back in, and not for the reasons you may be thinking. In my opinion, the sale is over hyped with every blogger trying to push buying a million things. If you’ve been here in years past you know that not only do I not do that, I’ve even done a post on What Not to Buy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
What I wanted to do again this year is share my opinion on what’s worth buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ll share my lists below with brief info on why I think the item is actually worth you spending your hard earned money on. As always, I’m here to answer any questions you may have! 🙂
Category: Work Wear
Staying true to my fashion roots; first up is work wear! While I may be on maternity leave, I will always keep my eye on wear to work trends and finding the best pieces for my corporate ladies. So, here are the wear to work items worth buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
These pieces are all wear to work items by brands that I know and love – brands whose quality hold up over time. They are also carefully selected to be pieces that have “on trend” elements (ie. currently trendy silhouettes, fabrics, etc) that are still ACTUALLY work wear appropriate.
Category: Beauty
There are only FOUR items I think are actually worth buying in the nordstrom anniversary sale in the beauty category. The reason for this is two fold: many of the beauty sale items are items you can get on better sale at other retailers during other times of the year (like the sephora sale for example). These 4 items though are things I would actually buy:
First up is the Sunday Riley Good Genes lactic acid treatment. This is a holy grail beauty product; basically the closest non-surgical thing you’ll find to the fountain of youth lol. It hydrates skin while eliminating fine lines and fighting wrinkles. Your skin WILL look younger from this, and this sale price can’t be beat!
Next we have the Coola clear sunscreen spray (2-pack). Coola is an amazing clean sunscreen brand, and this clear spray is KEY if you want to have sun protection without looking like Casper the Ghost at the beach.
Third we’ve got the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Set. If you are a Pillow Talk girlie (it is is the BEST pinky nude shade with a cult following for a reason!) this lip liner, lipstick and lip gloss set is 100% worth it.
Finally the MAC Ruby Woo Lip Trio. This trio comes in 3 shades, and honestly all are a good deal, but it’s the celeb favorite ‘ruby woo’ red that I would say is something 100% worth buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Category: Baby / Kids
Baby gear is probably the number one category as far as ‘good deals’ in the NSale (…assuming you have kids lol). The first three products I’ve included here are all products we used or are still using with Oakland that I also plan on using with Everley. Not only were they they most useful of all of our baby gear, but they’ve held up through 2 years of use by Oakland (which is a huge feat!)
The first one is the UPPAbaby Vista stroller. If you have (or plan to have) multiple kids this is your stroller. Hands down. It’s lighter weight than most double strollers, incredibly well made and has about a gazillion configurations for how you can have a car seat & toddler seat, toddler seat & baby bassinet, 2 toddler seats, etc etc.
Next up is the BabyBjorn bouncer. This is how we survive dinners with a toddler and newborn lol. Everley could sit in here for ages! It’s a nice change from having baby fully reclined and as they get older and their own leg movements bounce the chair itself it is game changing for allowing you time to get things done while baby stays safe and happy.
Finally (as far as baby gear) we have the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. This high chair has been SO durable and I love that it grows with your kiddo and can easily be used into toddler hood and childhood (it converts) so it’s really the only chair you’ll ever need.
Lastly I had to add these two ADORABLE outfits that are in no way “essentials”, but if you’re looking for cute baby clothes these are them! Both come in baby and toddler sizes. The brand is “habitual kids” which is one of the only kids brands I buy from Nordstrom. They are mid-range price wise and good quality.
