Monochromatic outfits were a big trend on runways this past fall, and we are seeing plenty of designers showcasing monochromatic looks at the moment. I love this trend because it looks so polished for a day at the office! When I discovered that this gorgeous wine color pleated skirt had a matching sweater, I knew I wanted to pair them together for a monochromatic office look. Vince Camuto actually released a number of shirts and sweaters this past collection in this exact wine shade, so it’s easy to find a matching shirt to pair with this skirt. I’ve linked 2 shirts in the matching color below.
I chose the sweater I am wearing here though because, HOLY COW THOSE SLEEVES!! I am in love haha! This sweater is sold out in the wine shade (slow tear) but I’ve linked it below in grey – it would be great in the office paired with skinny black dress pants and black pumps.
Midi-skirts have been one of my closet staples for work this winter. (Did you see this royal blue midi skirt?) But what really drew me to this particular wine skirt was the pleats. I love how pleats on a midi skirt sit; they are flattering on every body type. They create such beautiful movement when you walk – allowing you to make a statement with your outfit; while still keeping your look professional.
The other thing I love about this outfit, and really any monochromatic skirt and sweater look, is how easy it is to style! The skirt and sweater paired together are enough of a statement, so you don’t need to go over the top with accessories or jewelry. Add classic pumps, like the nude ones I am wearing here, and that is all you need. Perfect for those ‘how am I running late for work?!’ mornings. … Oh wait; that is every morning for me *hangs head in shame* haha.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend ahead of you. I am keeping it low key this weekend with a party tonight; but lots of cozy relaxation for the rest of the weekend. Be sure to come back to the blog on Monday; I have announcement I cannot wait to share with you all!!!!!
