The holiday season is officially upon us folks!! I have the first of my holiday parties this week – I’m kicking off holiday party season on Thursday night with a a women in criminal law party here in Vancouver. It should be fun one. One weird part about working in my profession is that instead of just having one office holiday party – because there are so many ‘elements’ to the Court system – there end up being a ton of holiday parties. I’ve got five different pseudo-office parties this year.
Today I wanted to share with you the outfit that will be my go-to office holiday party outfit this year. This green velvet blazer and silver sequin skirt combo! I love these pieces individually, and combined they make the perfect office holiday party outfit.
Velvet Blazer // Similar Sequin Skirt // Wide Belt // Boots c/o
The green velvet blazer is even more stunning in person than it is in photos. The fabric is so soft and luxe, and the fit is great. It’s definitely a splurge (… as is basically every piece from my favorite brand!) but it if you are looking to invest in a piece this season; this would be a perfect choice. This blazer can be worn with so many different pieces to look festive but still professional. This is definitely a blazer you can bring out year after year during the holiday season to look festive and polished.
I got my silver sequin midi skirt before New York Fashion Week (remember this outfit I wore to day 3 of NYFW?! It’s still one of my favorite looks to date!) I have been eagerly waiting since then for the holiday season so I could wear it again! The midi length makes it perfect as part of a office holiday party outfit, since the length is more professional than many sequin / festive dresses which tend to be mini skirt length.
I’ve always found that a wide belt adds a polished look to an outfit; so when looking to create a office holiday party outfit for this year I knew I wanted to wear a wide belt. This patent wide belt is under $20, and so worth picking up to wear this holiday season.
Last thing I need to talk about with this outfit: my boots! When looking to create an office holiday party outfit comfortable footwear needs to be a priority! At an office party you’ll likely have to mingle a ton, and be on your feet for hours. Noone wants to be the Grinch at their holiday party because their feet are in pain!
These boots are from Vionic – a company I have worked with a couple of times this year. When they first reached out to me and introduced me to their orthaheel technology I was intrigued, and after wearing some of their sandals this summer and trying it out for myself, I was hooked.
The orthaheel technology helps promote alignment, and it’s built into all of their shoes. The focus is on hugging your arches the way your natural footprint would, keeping you comfortable all day.
When I needed to pick out footwear for my office holiday party outfit, I knew I wanted to go with Vionic shoes. I really like the edgy look of ankle boots paired with a skirt (plus it’s cold in Vancouver and I wanted warm feet!). I decided, therefore, to go with these black heeled ankle boots.
I have actually been wearing these Vionic ankle boots to Court/the office almost a ton this month. It’s been raining like crazy in Vancouver so instead of heels with my suit I have been wearing these boots. I have been in Court on my feet all day in these boots and came home totally comfortable – that my friends is a frickin’ miracle. Needless to say, the orthaheel technology clearly works!
I hope you like this office holiday party outfit; and are feeling inspired for what to wear to your upcoming office party. Thanks for reading today’s post and be sure to come back on Friday for another holiday outfit that you won’t want to miss!
